Figured I'd post my question here rather than in a PM, as I'm sure Johnny's busy enough right now Tongue

Does anyone know if it matters which color format the files are submitted in? I did my toning work in grayscale mode (if that matters), but noticed that Illustrator defaults to CMYK when exporting after I've finished lettering a page.

Does it matter whether it's CMYK, RGB, or Grayscale? Is one peferable over the others?

I've always worked in CMYK before, but that's cuz I normally work in color. Not entirel sure about this as it my first gray tone work.

Cheers.

Whew!!!

All done and sent to the eocantholgy2@gmail.com address... Like I said in my note, I am so sorry for this coming in at the wire, but it really couldn't be avoided due to personal circumstance.  We really did intend to submit a full 8-page story, but as my personal situation began to improve, my time for working on the big project started to decrease.  My buddy Dan came through in the pinch though and came up with an entirely new piece that we could do in 3 pages- Yes, you are seeing a super-hero in the preview panels below, but believe me, this is actually a very personal piece to me and I think once the whole thing is read (and for those that "know" me) you'll get it...

Anyway, I'm hoping to begin the 8-pager that we originally intended very soon.

I asked Jon this in my e-mail, but I'll also ask it here- if it's possible to place pages 1 and 2 side by side (like a spread) with page 3 on the back of page 2, it would be much appreciated- Page 3 is the payoff and it would really work best if it's not seen right beside page 2... My thanks in advance for this...

Preview panels below:

This one is from page 1.

And this one's from page 2.

My compliments to everyone for the strong work that I've seen throughout the thread... this is going to be one helluva book...

Woo! FINALLY sent my stuff off! Good grief, it's been a busy few months.

Two separate strips this time out. Will post preview images tomorrow.

And I'm gonna go ahead and call it now: "Best In Show" will be a three-way tie between NickBrok, Darren, and Harry Moyer.

What they've shown is great, but keep in mind there are a lot more people contributing this year. You might want to give it time to see what everyone else comes up with. I think this year is going to have some crazy good work in it.

If we are still using Kablam I found this in their tech specs:

Color files are best sent in RGB mode.   If your files are already in CMYK, then leave them that way.   Don’t convert them back to RGB.  You’ll only distort your colors by doing that.

Black and white files should be in Grayscale mode.

Black and white files should be in Grayscale mode.[/i]

As long as the grays in Illustrator show no color other than a percentage of black, you're good, regardless of the color space in which the file was saved. If you have any concerns, you can always Select All and Edit/Edit Colors/Convert to Grayscale.  Thumbs Up

Just sent my pages in. I hope that they are ok. It didn't turn out exactly how I planed. But with crazy work hours this was the best I can do. I hope I don't drag the book down.

Ugh... hating this.... I'm not done with mine yet folks.

Got slammed with extra work on my job the last few weeks, put me behind some.   In my free time I've still been working my ass off on my story though.  I thought for sure I could finish it this weekend.  I finished all the art, but I still have the lettering.  Normally I'd just stay up and work on it, but I've got a pretty decent cold and have GOT to get some sleep before work, or I won't make it.

Sorry if I'm letting everyone down.  I'm positive I can get it done this week if there's time, but if there's not I'm afraid I'm just not going to have it done today.  I'm really bummed, I wanted to have it in on time.  Sorry everyone.
