Greetings everyone! It's November, and that means I'm hauling myself out of my internet hidey-hole to bring you the OFFICIAL Fourth Annual Gift Exchange! I've been away a lot lately, but when David told me that the forum was buzzing with questions about the gift exchange I knew it was time to come back. So for those who are new, or who need a refresher, here are the rules:
If you want to participate, reply in this thread with your name and your shipping preference: Domestic/American, or International (there are a lot of us forumites from Canada, the UK, Australia, and even further away who would like to participate, but you don't have to be from "out of town" to ship internationally). If you aren't in America, please put International and your country in brackets. For instance, I would put International (Canada). If there are enough from one area I might be able to do a regional shipping match-up.
After it's all separated, I will randomly match people up using a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. Then I'll post the list of givers and give-ees, so you can get in contact with your partner and get their mailing address, some information about what they're into, and things like that.
As a giver, you may be asking yourself, "What should you give?" The answer is: anything you want! Comics are a good idea: you can go out and buy something new if you'd like, but chances are you've got something good on your shelf or in your longboxes (or under your bed) gathering dust: you can pack that up and send it too. If you know that your person likes a particular style of music, or is a fan of a particular fiction series, or loves film noir, or is a big gamer, you can send something like that off, too. If you're an artist you can draw them something; if you're a knitter you can make them a scarf; if you're a chocolatier you can send off fancy delectable treats. It's up to you: whatever you think that person would like.
Please reply before Saturday, November 19th. I'll put everything together and post on Sunday November 20th, which should give people lots of time to find stuff, pack it up, and have it delivered by the end of December. Any questions: please DM me and I'll get back to you in 24 hours or less. MERRY HAPPY EVERYONE!
