To be honest I didnt know who he was until I lived next to him. Albeit, my reading of comics was only fringe at that time. And neither of us ever actually led on that we both read comics at all. We were both artists and hip hop heads so that was our area of chat. Didnt know about his comic love until I saw one of his books in my LCS. By that time we both moved out of our building and still only see each other when I catch him at the diner. And you guys just turned me on to the podcast he does. As I think its really great that he has that level of notoriety and love, I dont think its hard to believe that some dont know him, or everything he does. And that goes for any creator. I learn stuff all the time on this show, and thats part of what makes comics, and art in general, so great. My post was to share with those who may not know. To share the love.
No, you're right and it's entirely possible. He's got a huge personality, but yeah, we're a small bunch who know each other because we came here seeking out geek talk. Just because I see him as a big fish in a medium sized pond doesnt mean that everyone else does too. And not everyone swims in these waters. :-)
