You edited your post from last night, but didn't change the issue number (I'm still assuming, however, that you really meant #15, the first app. of Spidey).  That said, I never cared much for the 'extra' issues of Amazing Fantasy (#16-18) published almost 40 years later Evil

Lol! The whole reason I edited to post was to change the number. Looks Like I never did it. That's what happens when I post quickly from work. My bad. Also karma for the correction.

OMG, I can't believe nobody's mentioned the introduction of Cardiac or Round Robin!

 Wink

I was just about to post and Round Robin was a contender for me, fueled by pure nostalgia of course. That and Revenge of The Sinister Six are two of my favorite all time Spidey stories. I still have my tattered original copies.

You know the most memorable Spider-man stories for me are  Spider-Island and that fight wherehe kicks Firelord's ass. I know shocking, but my Spider-man reading is very patchy...

Hah. To clarify, I don't consider that one definitive. Not Busiek's best Spidey stuff.

You need to read more Spider-Man stories.
Oh, I'm not at all saying there are no good ones but IMO there are no real definitive once that can be really placed up the with the comment "This is Spider-man"  For instance, no one might agree with me but I thought one of the best and most fun Spiderman stories was "A Death in the Family" by Paul Jenkins from Peter Parker Spider-man 44-47.  It was a great Spider-man/Peter Parker and Green Goblin/Norman Osborn relationship story.  But that doesn't make it great or top notch.

But I love and have read quite a great many Spidey stories

Since most of the Spider experts on on this thread may I ask, what essential has the most Black Cat/Spiderman love stories?  Some one told me Peter Parker but I don't know which one.  Also believe it was Matlo penned.

1. Revenge of the Sinister-Six (Erik Larsen!) <-- and what made me a Spidey fan
2. Gauntlet
3. Spider-Island

Sorry, I kinda fell off the Spidey (and comic) wagon shortly after #1 so only recent stories are fresh on my mind.

That page where Gog first appears is one of my favorites of all time

You are correct -- Essential Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man volume 4 is the one you're looking for.
