For anyone that taken the time to know Chris, they'll find out that he's an awesome dude.  I'm fortunate to call him a friend.

He's one of the most genuine people that I know and the fact that wears his opinions on his sleeve is refreshing.  There are many things that I don't agree with him on, but that doesn't mean that I don't listen to his opinions and give thought and weight to what he has to say.  We all may present ourselves differently, but the fact that some of us don't agree on everything doesn't mean that we don't have valuable content to contribute to a conversation.  Besides, differing opinions are what makes the show entertaining.

btw, If Vince wasn't kidding about the PMs (though maybe he was just pulling Chris's chain).  If you're the one who sent Vince the PM saying that, then be man enough to send it to Chris.

I'll be sure to send you both a fucking refund.

This was awesome.

I just received PMs from three people that think you're being a cock.

This was awesome.

Curse me for sleeping in for once and being late to the party.

I honestly loved it when Chris threw down his mic and walked off. Its the same as how me and my friends are when we get into something we are passionate about.

It was a great episode.

It was a great episode.

I know I came off (as usual) as being a crank.
Mostly I was looking for an excuse to go to the bathroom and then grab a beer. Our conversations are supposed to be like four friends talking at a bar. If everyone agrees, that's boring as shit. Having spirited discussions is what we do. That's the show.

It's also over skype, so it's REALLY hard to talk for 2+ hours without stepping on what people are saying because you can't see them. We could be courteous and make sure that the other three are done with there points and fill the show with tons of empty pauses. It would also be four people doing monologues instead of actually talking with the other three. I don't think people want that. I know I don't.

BTW, the reason I wasn't agreeing with Vince is because he is of the opinion that Miller did DKSB as a Fuck You to the current state of comics. I STRONGLY disagree because A) The current state of comics in 2001 was one that he had set the foundation for with his work in the 80s & 90s. & B) I don't think that Miller does "subversive" work like that. Everything he does is very "In Your Face" and without much if any subtext.

back in the day when I had roommates we used to literally have a closet dedicated to with two laundry baskets full of console controllers (multiples of all varieties) on ready 5 because at any given moment a controller would get thrown down and not survive the experience.

Sometimes you have to drop the mic.

If we did it all the time, it would be whack. But occasionally, like Chris did the other day, HAS to make for good listening.

I actually didn't know it happened until reading the thread. I caught that he left, but in the context of the discussion I didn't catch why it would be in response to what was being said (I just thought he had to drop stuff quick to handle something).

I never said that Chris is a bad guy or anything like that.  Like I said before, I don't even think that's the real Chris, and he just said that he was looking for an excuse to go to the can and then get beer, so there you go.  Still, when things get shout-y, that's not something I want to hear, and I'll skip it.  Since we're all respecting everybody's passionate opinions, there's one of mine.

I caught that on the episode when Chris said he had to take a piss but everyone else were saying something so I don't know if all the listeners heard it.

I think if you're a first time listener (and especially if you're used to the Don't Miss Chris) it might be a little shocking but if you know Chris, you know that he loves his buddies. I know that I'm all proper and shit when talking to everyone but I have super heated debates with my buddies because we're so comfortable with each other so it's probably like that. I've got not problems with any of the four fighting it out as long as everyone makes up at the end Hearts

By the way, you all should know that Chris did it as a FUCK YOU to the current state of podcasts.

Yikes!

Ahem... To shift the conversation a bit, I think The Red was more of a Jamie Delano thing.  Morrison was more about the Morphogenetic Field.  Morrison may have named it The Red at some point, though I'm not entirely sure of that.  It was definitely Delano that made it more of a horrific thing, in the fashion it's being used now.  Lemire's run owes more, tonally at least, to the Delano/Pugh Vertigo run than the Morrison run, though obviously Delano's sprung from the groundwork Morrison (and later Tom Veitch) laid. Pugh coming back to the book brings it full circle.

Woood! Thanks for that Feynman recommendation. I love science and its practitioners, so this is right up my alley! Immediately added to my Amazon wishlist.  Thumbs Up
