Looking for thoughts / opinions / suggestions on the upcoming Strange Girl omnibus from Remender. Is this a solid read worth roughly the $40 price tag from Amazon? Considering I'm an atheist, I'm unsure if I'll appreciate or enjoy the whole rapture set-up. Don't want to drop the bread if I'm just going to stay pissed-off the entire time I read it. From what I know about Remender, he's one of my fellow godless heathen brothers... which is why I want to give this a shot.

I read the first few issues (backbin) and LOVED the concept, and this is another athiest, but I have a high tolerance for religion (both pro and against) in my art. I really dug American Virgin and I may have been the only one who read it.

Art is great, the concept is nice but I dont know if the story goes anywhere since I did not read far. Also no clue on the omnibus, I dont touch those, too big for me to read comfortably.

Even though I have a pretty low tolerance for the Judeo-Christian thing, I looooooooved Strange Girl. So much so, I had the run bound. If the thought of a sexy teenage Dr. Strange apprentice with a wisecracking dwarf demon sidekick on the run from the Lords of Hell appeals to you, take the plunge. Besides, it's Remender, so you're assured that the writing side is solid.  Thumbs Up

From listening to the podcast, I'm convinced our tastes are fairly similar (Are you my avatar, or am I yours?). Hence, I trust your opinion. You just sold me. Ring me up, Bezos!

Heading to the comics shop in an hour and very curious bout the Strange Girl Omnibus (as I've LOVED everything I've read by Remender and I read and enjoyed the first issue last night)
Should I buy it?? I need some insight from the most knowledgable comics community on the net!!

I have ZERO regrets over buying the first couple Fear Agent trades a few weeks ago. Is Strange Girl as solid?

Yes, totally different from Fear Agent, but really unique/cool series about the folks left on earth after the Rapture takes away all the devout.

Strange Girl  is my favorite Remender Work. I own all the issues and trades. I skipped the Omnibus. It had a large impact on the things I believe or don't believe, and I recomend it to anyone who enjoys any of Remender's Mainstreme work.

I'm pretty sure the slipcase version was just the softcover TPBs that had a slipcase to hold them all.

The Omnibus will be a HC

It's glorious! Soooo glad I picked this up!!
Can't believe I missed Strange Girl and Fear Agent till now but also extremely happy to be able to plow through them in collected editions! (I feel for the folks who had to wait months and months for Fear Agent issues cause I've been teRing through 'em bout one trade a week!)

" Limited to only 1,000 copies, this special collection gathers together all four volumes of the critically acclaimed series in an exclusive new slipcase, along with a Strange Girl print by legendary illustrator Michael Kaluta, all signed by series creator Rick Remender."

it says hardcover too, but dont know if that means four hardcovers or one

I have this, it is the four trades that all fit in a hard shell slipcase.
