I tend to only re-read things I consider "evergreen" or "epic runs"
For instance this year I re-read
Watchmen
DKR
New Frontier
Infinity Gauntlet
All-Star Superman

That's why I have a hard time buying certain DC/Marvel comics in trade. Will I re-read Jeff Parkers Hulk run? Probably not. I enjoy it in issues but I probably won't need to read it again.

As far as prose books the only ones I really re-read are
Paul Austers New York Trilogy
Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast
Live From New York the oral history of Saturday Night Live

There are others but I re-read those the most.

"Live From New York" is an excellent read.  I think I got through that book in a day or two; because it was such an enthralling read.  Who doesn't like to read about the sex and drug side of an American TV staple?

I would recommend to anyone who wants to work in television, whether it's as a comedian, writer, or a producer. There is a lot to learn from that book.

Dean, I wonder how much of what you're talking about has to do with getting older? I'm not an old man (though these 20 year old co-workers I have are starting to make me feel that way), but at 31 I'm actually starting to realize that I'm not immortal. And not that I have it figured out yet, but I'm much more cognizant of when I'm consuming something that I'm not really enjoying, or that I'm using as a time waster. Like you with your pull list, I've been very quick to drop tv shows that don't work for me. I used to watch so much out of habit, and now, I would rather do nothing, than watch something just because I've always watched it.

For me some of it might be getting older (38), but its related to being desensitized too.  I've consumed a LOT of media in my life and it does change how I view stuff.  And the other part is being busy.  After you get done with work, get done with the work you have at home, put kids to bed, etc......I have an hour or so every night to myself and I'm pretty choosy about how I spend that hour.

I'm going to end up diapering my kid in my old back issues.

Genius. If you run out let me know.  I have a fair number of comics that I am giving away.

Great topic.
Concerning TV: I have watched and re-watched Torchwood and am embarrassed to admit it but River Cottage. I don't know what it is about those shows I love.
Concerning comics: Recently went back and re-read the Millar's run of Fantastic Four. It is so good! I've also recently re-read Power Girl the entire series. I know I've spoke volumes already on this forum about that series, but it is one of my favorite of all time. And finally I re-read the first few trades of Queen and Country.
