I understand this TOTALLY! MY roommates were just in awe of the fact that I got so excited about receiving a package from someone I have never met before. "This is one of your nerd things, right?" one of them said. It's a wonderful sense of community here. This was my first gift exchange but it won't be my last! It didn't even matter so much what was in the box I received. What was more important was that it was someone reaching out and sharing what they loved. I sometimes think that it is extremely underestimated the sense of family that goes on here. Thanks guys!
My roomates did the same thing. They have a hard time understanding why I would send off things to to random stranger that I may not even talk to here on the boards. I kind of feel like this is a comics cocoon without the Wilford Brimley and the aliens. We support each other in this hobby and allow others to try new things that we normally would not. I appreciate these boards so much because it allows me to talk comics and just enjoy the hobby. So again thanks guys for the show and the boards

eighth. Not as cool sounding. AS a matter of fact, it feels a little "Charlie Brown."
22nd! (well according to this week's show questions)

I'm SO with those "Oh Shit" moments! I was pumping my fist with David's X-Factor reveal, but then here comes Chris totally taking the crown with Alpha Flight #12.

Speaking of eggs…do you guys remember in the eighties when ostrich eggs were popular?

It's in the beginning when Chris said he loved Dazzler, disco era and everything (which is another one of those "omg I really DO love Chris!!?") and Jason goes into laughing, then he SINGS Olivia Newton John. In falsetto but ON. POINT. AT LAST!!

Great episode. My thoughts at this time on favourite moments over the years 1) are indeed the Wood pissing, 2) Darrels voicemail about bringing back more pouches, pockets and huge guns and Chris sleeping near the end of a recording. Couple those with me laughing at the very same time as Vince anytime anyone says anything that could be twisted to be dirty. 1) "I'm peein' brotha! 2) "...for no reason."And all the others! Yes Matt! And you know what else? Those moments did the same thing for us that it did for you guys. We bonded off that isht. How we laughed out here in Forum land and leaned on each other drunkenly. And because of that, I haz Matt as my friend! All the people from this community that I call as friends, man. Y'all don't even know. I carry you all around with me everyday, all day. Twitter helps me talk to you all all day and night. I. Love. You.

I'd pay/bribe Vince if he can cut together all the bits where someone sings on the episode and put it all together.

The greatest living cartoonist IMHO is Bill Watterson Is Hernandez really greater than someone like Naoki Urasawa or Moebius? Look at the former's body of work, and his magnum opus (which is debatable) is not overshadowed by Love and Rockets at all. Yeah, Watterson is great. My favorite strip artist of the modern era. But he hasn't worked in a long time, and he was a strip artist/writer. I was thinking of comic book creators. Hernandez > Urasawa (as long as people call it manga and not comics, they don't get to play in our sandbox) Moebius is AMAZING, but his best work is behind him. I think Hernandez has his best still before him.

I certainly think when you're talking about legends, it's all subjective. Personally, I think Urasawa has few peers, and wouldn't include Hernandez in them. BUT, I totally respect that given their different approaches, many may view it completely differently. This is like debating Ty Cobb and Willie Mays. Some feel it's a no brainer, others are less sure, and a few others might even say Stan Musial.

Hernandez, Urasawa, and Moebius are all extremely good comic makers. If you like good comics, you should read them. Yay comics.

Listening to you guys talk about Stryfe brought back so many memories...I seem to recall loving Stryfe more than any one person should.
Then when he appeared on the X-Men animated series? Glorious.

I had a hollowed out ostrich egg...late '80s-early '90s. Thought it was cool.

His stats are awesome. stan will always be "The Man"
