I'm level 29 with steel armor all raised to Superior, most with enchantments. I'm dual wielding the Mace of Balag Mol and a kick ass frost enchanted sword, and yet I'm getting shredded when it's three on one. Just taking too much damage before I can lay these guys to waste

Well, one suggestion is to dump the stell armour and get yourself into Orcish or Ebony asap (I would say Dragon but that is a big investment).

I have a friend who says that One handed (with high skill and perks) and a shield works great for him.

I prefer usi ng Power Attack with my Two Hander. Took me half the game to realize I had a power attack.

I presume that your adding Damage health and posion potions as you create/ find them.

When all else fails throw sand in their face.....

I think I just have to be more willing to use my tools. I generally try to avoid using potions and magicks until the last second, and yet I have all these bad ass potions I've enchanted.

The hoarding thing is always an issue for me in games. In my mind there is always this perceived scarcity and I end up hours later with 50 health and magic potions

Finally strapped one on and cleared out the Dustman's Cairn, got my 3rd shout in the process!

Hauled back to Whiterun to dump my loot, get inducted into the Companions, and then it's back out into the wild to whoop some more ass.  I did notice while I was heading to a few smaller camps and redoubts near Dustman, that I could see a big dragon flying around in circles over a very big tower/pointy mountain in the distance.

I ALMOST hauled over there to try to fight it, but figured I was too weighed down with loot and too lacking in potions after using them in the lengthy Dustman's Cairn quest to bother.

I was able to play A LOT this weekend.

Wood's potion system (almost said scheme Smiley ) works great!

I make a bunch of potions, sell them off and buy the potions I need as well as all of the ingredients I can. I walk out of shops with all of their cash, the potions I really need, and usually enough ingredients to start it over again!

I'm doing a lot of side quests mixed in with the Thieves Guild quest at the moment. I think I'm going to finish that one up before I move on with the main story.

Glass armor is awesome.

Has Marian's totally kick-ass character sheet been posted yet? Apologies if it has! I love the "When Dealin With Stuff" section.

Yup yup!

I have probably a few hundred potions now, all with high price tags. I just need to find places with bigger bank accounts to sell them Smiley

I am now level 33 and haven't begun the Main Quest beyond the initial Dragon defeat and shout. So I'm heading up to High Hrothgar finally so I can start doing some of this before I'm so powerful that all the levels spawn ridiculously hard stuff.

BTW, the Dustman's Cairn final battle is a ton of fun. First time in the game I felt like I had to be on point for a good chunk of time. I don't know the final count, but it seemed like at least 25-30 Draughr Lords came at me.

Wait.....does that mean you have been adventuring all this time without Dragon Shouts?

I finally unlocked Daedric Smithing and made myself a sweet Battle Axe. I then used a smithing potion and managed to upgrade it to deal twice as much damage. All I gotta do now I level my enchanting. I've been finding empty soul gems and filling them with this sweet soul catching sword.

Shops replenish their banks and inventory after 48 hours game time.  Since the put it in the game, you could use the wait function and wait for 24 hours twice, and they'll have more money again.  It takes less time than traveling shop to shop.

Starting to feel like a bawwwwwse

Stumbled onto some trolls and crushed them like it was no one's business, few arrow shots and BOOM!

Then stumbled into a Giant camp while heading to High Hrothgar and killed both giants (who were fighting me at the same time) with just a few arrow shots.

I'm now wielding a glass bow with drawven and/or glass arrows, echanted with FIRE. Right before bed, I enchanted a similar bow with Soul Trap.

BOOYAH!

What I'm loving about this game is how flexible your story can be.
Right now I'm deciding between continuing the main story, continuing the Thieves Guild quest, or just running around and doing small quests to clear out some caves, dungeons etc.
The brilliance of the game is that at times I should be able to do a little of everything. I'm at a point where the main story is overlapping with the Thieves Guild and I can mix in a couple side missions along the way.

LOVE IT

BTW Because Aela is a follower now I've been able to up my archery skill to the point that I'm blasting things away with a shot or two before they ever get close to me. It's awesome to be able to take down a Frost Troll before he can even touch you!

Yep...training with your partners is the jam.

I discovered that by accident early on when a little radiant quest led to Faendal the Elf offering to tag along with me. I quickly realized that I could train with him, and then take back my money. But he was a Journeyman so that only worked up to level 25, I think? But there are Master level trainers (and Common ones in the middle) that you can train up to level 90 with.

As a Companion, I'm also having an easy time training and then pickpocketing back my money. It's a bit of a time consumer since I save after each training iteration (you have no chance of stealing back 1000s of gold so you need to steal the few hundred after each session), but it's worked beautifully.

I had not considered the need to specialize in one and two handed combat for a long time, and frankly wasted some early perks. So to get my one handed up to a level that's commensurate with the rest of my profile, I have trained, stolen from, and trained again with the dark elf Companion a TON of times.

Another tip...it's MUCH easier to do this at night when the trainers are sleeping.

Wake them up...ask to train
Train for the fee
Disengage the dialog box
They will lay back down to sleep
Pickpocket the money
Rinse/Repeat

I think my sneak is so high that Dragons can't see me when they are flying around above me, even when I'm running around. Either that or they are scared. I like to think that they are scared. Yeah, definitely.

Hit level 52 yesterday, and over the weekend hit 100 in Smithing, Anchantment (need one more perk for double effects on weapons and armor), Alchemy, and Illusion.  Made some Daedric Armor and a Daedric Sword.  Now i just need to wait for inventory for more Daedric Hearts or get them as drops and i can finish the rest of my armor peices.

Ancient Dragons are still tough, and their the only ones that come out.  I'll be doing more questing now, so my one-handed, shield, and destruction magic should start leveling up higher now too.
