The fruits of last night's labor: http://steamcommunity.com/id/percussionmasta/screenshots/With maxed enchanting, alchemy and smithing, I think this is some of the best gear I can make. I ran out and fought an ancient dragon with all this gear, and was pleased to find out that it's not game-breaking. It was definitely a quicker battle, but also not a one-hit kill affair, and an ancient dragon's flame still reduces life pretty quickly. This took about 3 hours last night, so I didn't actually get to use it much. I am sooooooooooooo jealous! That stuff looks epic.

Yeah dude. With fire damage, my bow is over 500, which is just pure insanity. You can imagine my surprise when I maxed alchemy and then went to mix my final fortify smithing potions, and received friggin' +130% FORTIFY SMITHING. Yeah, I was pretty pumped about that one.

i have succumbed to peer pressure and bought skyrim. i played about 4-6 hours of oblivion before giving up, so i hadn't planned on getting skyrim; but you guys obviously love it, so i wanted to give it a try.
after about an hour or so, i am cautiously optimistic. close quarters combat seems to still consist of whaling on each other willy-nilly but at least it appears to be more forgiving.
what's everybody's difficulty rating at?i put mine at "apprentice". hopefully its the "easy, but-not-too-easy" setting, since i'm still feeling out combat.

Did the Azura's Star quest last night, and opted to turn it into the Black Star. That was a fun little mission. I have to say, going into the star and having to fight my first Dremora (leveled up b/c I'm almost level 50) was the toughest test I've had in awhile playing the game. Those guys are tough, they fire non-stop and intelligently dodge and weave so I had trouble getting a fix on them with my bow.

Nice. I have the star, but haven't decided who to give it to yet...

For me it was a no brainer to give it to Nelacar. The Black Star traps human souls, AND grand non-sentients (in other words it does what the Azura's Star would do, plus humans). I kill a lot of humans in this game.

Haven't done that in a while, and forgot how much fun it is. Last night I found the Bard's Leap Summit! Pretty cool little place.

Yeah, it's those little random moments that still float my boat. I had to get way down south to go after the Azura's Star, so I fast traveled to a little camp I had cleared wayyyyyyyyyy back in the day as it was the closest place to the site available to me. I get there and apparently never fully cleared the camp. So I'm sent smack dab into the middle of three giants, some bandits, a couple of mammoths, all fighting an Elder Dragon. Luckily I have Vilkas with me, so we made quick work of every last one of those mark ass bustas.

When I found Bard's Leap Summit, before I took the plunge, I turned around and ran back toward some ruins. There were some of those Forsworn hide walls in front of the ruins, obscuring what was behind. I took a peak behind this makeshift wall, and low and behold I found two things. The first was a dragon word wall. The second, however, was much more surprising. In front of the wall was a ceremonial table with a Forsworn laid out on it. This guy was TORN UP. Blood and gibblets everywhere, along with two Hagravens, the obvious perpetrators of this carnage. Seems like these witches put up a wall and set up a little medical experiment in this secluded alcove. I slew the beasts and looted their dead bodies. While the Forsworn and I generally don't get along, my foes deserve more honor than to be mutilated in this fashion.

Ran into a pretty annoying bug last night in Valthume. When I got to the Iron Dragon Claw door I wasn’t able to rotate any of the circles to the proper symbols that unlock door. Without being able to get through that door I can’t complete the “Evil in Waiting” quest or learn the Word of Power that the Greybeards sent me there for. If I don’t learn that word the Greybeards won’t tell me where they hear the whispers of other words. Apparently I’m not the only one stuck here (though some other players reported being able to rotate the lock to the proper symbols but still not being able to open the door) and a fix doesn’t appear to be in the upcoming 1.4 patch.
Very frustrating.

I need to get back to the main quest. I've been doing a lot of clean-up quests and organizing of crap. Ready to get back on the road and kills me some dragons!
ONE thing I've done with the Restoration trick is to enchant a ring with extra carry. I can now lug around over 1000 ponds of crap! It makes it lot easier to run around for a loooooong time without having to return to one of my houses to drop stuff off. Having 8 Dragon Bones and 6 Dragon Scales without having to worry about dropping other valuable stuff is nice.
I think my goal for the weekend is to finish the main quest and then start either the mage or dark brotherhood.
I'm saving up for the Civil War till I can wipe out hoards of guys on my own.

I haven't used the trick, but that's a good use of it if I ever heard of one. I'm swimming in quests right now, having started the Thieves, Dark Brotherhood and Mage arcs, not to mention I still can't say no to any radiant quest that's sent my way. I haven't counted, but I bet I have over 100 outstanding quest tasks right now.

Doing the Thieves Guild side quests along with other major quests are a great way to jump around the map and get a lot done. You have to do at least 20 small jobs (5 in each major town) to become guild master, so you can bundle that up with other missions along the way. I spent A LOT of time going back and forth from Riften to other cities...

It's funny because I have so many effing expensive potions, so many weapons and armor (mostly enchanted), and an ungodly amount of stolen merch (that's what happens when you get pickpocketing to 100), plus I can't even imagine how many gems...and a) they're all sitting in my houses, and b) I have more septims than I know what to do with. So I figured it was high time to get my Thievery on and have fences and be able to sell more stuff to each vendor, as well. Otherwise it's all going to show up in some Bethesda version of Storage Wars after I'm dead and buried. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Having Fences with 4,000 septims to deal is awesome. You can unload a ton of crap and build up 10-20k in a heartbeat.

I've got almost 30,000 right now but I haven't even been to Solitude and still have some abodes to buy/furnish.

I. Hate. Markarth. It's the suck. Some of the cities are gawwwwd awful. Who wants to live in Winterhold? I mean DAMN. Awesome loot to be had on the thievery tip in the college though. And Windhelm? My gods that's a boring ass city.
