For the (eventual) Oceanverse: The Collected Edition PDF - Would you like black line art on a white background or sepia line art on a natural background (like the book)?

I'm tempted to say sepia, but what looks better on the screen? If I sent the PDF to my father, would it be easy to see on the iPad or laptop?

I...don't know yet? I may have to put together some tests soon. Say, a 3-5 page PDF, one B&W, one sepia matching the look of the book, and maybe a sepia that is a little brighter than the book? Also, I'm searching for a price point. The PDF will have 160 pages of comic content, a 26 page sketchbook, and the six full-color covers from the single issues.

I think the sepia is preferable as long as you can still read it clearly. Pricing on the digital books is tough.

They all look really good on the ipad. First looked at them as web pages and then in ibooks where they look even better. The margins are good, they come the closest to the edges of the screen out everything I've read with ibooks. To get more specific when looking at it landscape the top and bottom go right to the edge and very minimally short of the left and right. The sepia didn't have any detrimental affects on my reading experience at all. The strong sepia creates a nice warmth. I'd at least go the scaled back sepia if not the heavy sepia. Another bonus(?) having it in a form of sepia can nicely separate it from the original print(?) and web version.
Whichever you choose I'm looking forward to it regardless.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward the scaled-back sepia.
Also, I will probably shrink the art juuuust a bit to give them a little more room on the side margins.
Thanks for your input.

They all look great Personally I think the scaled back sepia is optimal, but that's probably highly subjective.

They're all just fine on the iPad, but if I'm voting, I found the sepia toned options preferable to the bright white. The more muted nature of the sepia let me concentrate on the line art more, the white I could feel the eye strain and it was harder for me to see the entirety of the picture for long.

I think I'm going with #3. Now I need to do some conversions and get the PDF ready. Hopefully, by the time I'm done fulfilling my Kickstarter backers, I'll have my store up offering both the physical and digital editions.
