man, that thing is indeed baller Thumbs Up

if anyone is looking for a similar, and cheaper, Prime i picked this up years back and its pretty stellar. it was the 20th Anniversary Prime. Sturdy, diecast chest, rubber wheels, mouth guard that moves, and chest/matrix of leadership lights up. goes for about $70-100 on ebay nowadays.

That's the MP-01 version.  The US version was battle damaged but otherwise the same as the Takara version.  I didn't think it was any smaller than the new MP version though.

I have a few MPs here.  I have the first Prime, Takara Starscream (which I am looking to sell), the US Starscream, US and Takara Skywarps, and of course Megatron.  The only one i desperately want is Rodimus but I cannot justify the price point right now.  I might just get the US one off eBay for $50 though.

I walked into a Japanese import toy store today, to check out some of their Transformers stuff. They had this as well as the Starscream and 2010 Unicron and Primus figures (along with many other figures from the various lines). It really is a beauty. Almost bought it on the spot.

Just announced that MP-12 will be Sideswipe, brother to one of my favorite Autobots, Sunstreaker.  Great news and I'm glad to see we're getting more cars.

Sideswipe was my first TF and is, to this day, my favorite Autobot. It seems fitting he'll also be my first MP.

I will be picking it up. However, I bet somewhere within the next 3 MPs, we get a Red Alert.

This is off topic, but where can you get those glass display cases? I am moving and losing my built-in shelving!

yes, Detolf from Ikea.

I now have the Masterpiece Rodimus to join Optimus, Starscream and Grimlock.  Gotta post some pics.  Filling  up that damn detolf quickly.  With MP-12 thru MP-14, it'll be just about full.

I almost pulled the trigger last weekend on Rodimus Prime but held off because I couldn't tell if it was the first or second release.  When I found the details to check them, it was gone.  Ah well.

I do have a Grimlock though and though not my favorite Dinobot, the MP is awesome.

The same store got another Rodimus in and I couldn't resist.  He does have his problems though.  I need to sand some more space for the spoiler in the RV mode as it's too tight and scratches the paint.  The leg panel keeps popping off, and the back doesn't clip in.

But he is Rodimus/Hot Rod, one of my favorite TFs ever.  And now he joins his autobot leader buddies.

Once i dig out Megatron, I'll have a nice little battle going.

Awesome group shot.

By the way, did you know there was a "revision" MP-9 Rodimus that fixed some of the issues like the clip-in and the leg panels?

I did.  However, I got this at a resale collectable shop so it's not a store stocked from a supplier.

And I just found the info I was looking for.  It's version 1.  The back panel doesn't pop off often for me but the leg thing I need to find a fix for.

Only one I have is the Asian exclusive Six-Shot (my favorite), which is not a masterpiece but is priced like one (it's essentially the same as the original with chrome accents and nice packaging).

I've always looked at a few but for me it's been Transformers or Robotech/Macross, both of which are high dollar for any of the new toy releases, and I went with the latter.

I have had 2 Six Shots over the years.  I had an original as a kid but I sold it to get some money to get started in college.  The other was the original japanese re-issue.  I sold that off a year or so back because I was stupid.  I'll eventually get yet another one somewhere down the line but really want an original 80s one.  He was such a great toy.

My buddy found me the TRU MP Prime and is dropping it off tonight which is why I am not at Skyfall now.  It just looks so nice and now I need to clear some room for him.

I got MP Sidewipe in on Monday and I absolutely love him. He's may favorite Transformer, partially because he was my first and that helps a lot with nostalgia. The transformation is complex enough to be interesting but not hard to remember. He looks amazing in both modes and is perfectly G1 in robot mode.
