Yeah... we are having a Game of Thrones finale gathering Sunday to break it in. I'm sure I'll be wishing we didn't the next day.

May 26Dinner out. Having some fried tofu among other things. May 28We ordered some takeaway (or takeout for US peeps) since we didn't feel like cooking. Salt and pepper squid, roast pork/chicken and beef brisket noodle soup. May 29We didn't feel like cooking again so we went to Subway to get something to eat. We've been using the 2 for 1 coupon a lot so a footlong sub costs us $3.50. May 30The prescription from Monday which I still haven't picked up yet and probably never will since I'm feeling better. I can never read the doctor's handwriting.

May 31iPad & cheap Android tablet. Not a great quality device but it gets the job done for under $100. June 1Time for our quarterly fridge cleaning. Here's the crap that we had to throw out. June 2Salmon cooked in butter and garlic, served with crème fraiche and mixed herbs. June 3My mother is overseas for a week and she asked me to tape The Voice for her. Like a good son, I'm editing out the ads.

So was it supposed to look like a shark or is that just coincidence? May 24 Fave page from Avengers Forever. "FASTER, MARVEL... FASTER!" Thanks so much to Andrew Shaw (Fist of Khonshu) for lending me his copy.
That's good reads. May 28 We ordered some takeaway (or takeout for US peeps) since we didn't feel like cooking. Salt and pepper squid, roast pork/chicken and beef brisket noodle soup. The most you know. I don't think I've heard about that before. Takeout in Canada too.

So was it supposed to look like a shark or is that just coincidence? I didn't even notice that until you pointed that out! There were a bunch of those white chocolate things on the cake and I got that piece by chance. That's good reads.

It's probably takeout in most countries. We're just weird, being upside down and all

If you were really a good son, you would edit out the content and swap it with Avengers, EMH.

So I used to sometimes watch hockey back in the day. I work by the Staples and the Kings are in the Stanley Cup (that is the finals for those non-hockey people). They are up 2 games to 0 in the best of 7 match up and having their first home game of the series. So I figured I would watch the end of the game at home. I get home and it is not on TV or basic cable. DirecTV has it on some extra pay channel. Poor showing. If you want your sport to be taken seriously in this country you need TV coverage. I can watch the WNBA which has existed for only a few years on TV. So I had to walk up to the bar. The Kings won so that is something. I watched some of the game and then walked home again. NHL is bush league. On a side note, that retail space has seen at least 3 restaurants since I have moved here. I am not sure the current one will last. They show sports but it is a little upscale (especially for a sports bar). Best of luck to them. It started as a Fondue joint that was older than the hills, then a fancy, higher-end type brick oven pizza joint (wasn't bad) and now this. The food is fine but not worth the price.
