This is the sculpture on the campus of the University of Chicago that marks the anniversary of the world's first nuclear reaction there.

Didn't even notice this when I grabbed the can! DECKS!

I'm loving my new bike. A 1985 Pugot. It rides like a dream. First time in years I've rode a ten speed. And the first time I've been riding regularly this year. Lost 5 lbs in just over a month! Only... 35 more to go until I'm wedding ready. August 31 2013 give me enough time... it should at least.

Diet Pepsi mixed with Red Wine. Don't knock it till you try it.

DAMN YOU INFLATION! The high quality of Simpler times is worth 2.99 and not one cent more.

Hanging out with Murdock Friday night. Read about 35 comics that night. A good night.

Scott Hatteberg Bobble Head Day! It has the radio call of the 20 game streak call "THAT'S JUST PLAIN CRAZY!"

Cleveland @ Oakland

Lunch at the Monk's Kettle with my buddy Ian. If you're ever in SF and want some great food and a great beer selection, give it a shot. I cannot recall the name of what we were drinking, it was pitch black and I think from the Russian River Co.

Re-Reading Scalped. This panel makes me smile. Comics + Merle = Happiness.

The Fiance and our Friend Jeff.

They had some of the players from the 2002 team come out for a celebration on the anniversary of the streak. Up in the upper right hand corner you can see they dropped the same banner down from the game in 2002. I may have got a bit misty eyes. It was great seeing Art Howe again.

Bruno and Murdock having a Sun Dog Saturday in our courtyard.

That ain't wasted to me.  I am still going through Lego Batman 2. Must get all achievements and simultaneously confirm that I have made all the wrong life decisions in one symbolic gesture.

I saw one of LA Rabbit's friends today.

Cousin! How you doing?

Getting caught up.

A panel from a comic Dan sent me.  I was wondering about the hanging things from her hat which we decided was cork thanks to another Australian tweeter.

"Upgrading" from grocery store sushi to mall sushi. I will let the reader decide if this was a wise decision

Trouble at the dealership1.

OK, I bought the books at NYCC last year.  I love the marketing these guys do.  I know word of the billboard for a comic book has spread but Saturday I was in Vegas for my fantasy football draft (I go for just a day) and when I saw this I had to snap a picture, through the window of my shuttle bus.

1Side note, I used to think the song, "She caught the Katy" was "she complicated" and then I thought "Katy" meant cadillac but it refers to a railroad according to the internet.  Thanks to Zack, now I am listening to the Skeptoid who did an episode about how our brains fill in words in any sounds we hear.  Which explains why I hear English lyrics in that Korean Pop song that Dan was posting about OPEC Gundam styleAi.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/9hB3eCv_FOk&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/9hB3eCv_FOk&rel=1</a>

ANot actual title, "it is Gangnam Style" but try my version, it works.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/9bZkp7q19f0&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/9bZkp7q19f0&rel=1</a>

iOK, so not exactly sure if "Gundam" really counts as an "English" work and while I toyed with either "Gingham" or "Gangland" I think of it as Gundam from a phonetical standpoint and at this point I think you are being perhaps overanalytical about a silly little post about my foolish cognitive mistakes

I always see it at the store and I want to try it out but I never do. I will say that I give it more that the benefit of the doubt because one of my ex girlfiend's stepfathers was a sucsi chef and worked in packaging those at some point. He would bring some home occassionally. It was good, really good. Not as good as in the restaurant of course, but I always liked the little cellophane grass (?) garnish that came inside them.

I can't recall the company name though, it's been about ten years. I'm sure some are garbage but, the ones that I have tried were good.

If I had any balls, I would try the packaged sushi that is at my local 7-11 but I just can't.  At Ralph's you can see them assembling the sushi although that might just be theater.  It probably depends on the particular store.  I am totally ignorant of sushi.  We went to one of the highly thought of places1, and it was good but not worth the additional price compared to my local.  I am not a connisseur.  They only suspect part of your story is the "ex-girlfriend" part because what woman could stay off the Slurmo, once she has had a taste.  Hooked for life on that.   Yes

1I check chowhound usually, although I have also been known to look at Yelp and Urban Spoon and other such sites.

Ten years later we are more than cordial and remain really good friends. Alas, the (romantic) relationship ended due to irreconcilable differences regarding marriage and children.  Whaaaat

Actually I think that the ones that he packaged were for 7-Elevens  Huh?

I also unlocked Galactus mode. I get to play as Galactus and beat people up. It's pretty fun! Iron Fist of all people smashed me though. How does that work?

Yum Cha for my little brother's birthday.

I wanted my own plushie ninja turtle, so I made one. I'm thinking of making another one to send to the team on the IDW book. He definitely needs some weaponry though.

I love that turtle.  The new movie should use stop motion with crotchet versions.

Disneyland unleashed the Glow with the Show version of Fantasmic.  It involves plastic Mickey Mouse ears that light up either randomnly or on command by some type of signal sent.  Or maybe it is magic.  It was fun.
