Aw yeah, Gray Morrow!
Zack fun fack: Gray Morrow is from Fort Wayne and both of my grandmas went to elementary and high school with Gray. One said he was nice and very talented. The other said he was a weirdo.
But! The one that said he was a weirdo is prone to making needlessly smarmy comments about people.

I think towards the end of the show, Vince said something about the Battle Royale manga not being completed? There are five "Ultimate" editions that Tokyopop put out that is indeed the entirety of the manga.

It's taken me a few days to gather my thoughts.
Wood - you're a billionaire, a Republican, and a Liefeld-apologist, but you NOT getting Adventure Time? That takes the cake.
My two cents on the show?
Cent 1 - It's the closest I've seen to a child's unfettered imagination on show for all to see - you ask a kid to make up a story on the spot, it'd be like the show - "there was guy, and he went into a forest, and there was a tree, but it turned into a witch, and when it cried, time went backwards, so the boy was younger and inside out, so a Princess appeared and threw a cake, and..."
It's just non-stop creativity; before you can process what you just saw (in all it's funny, cute, trippy amazingness), you're hit with some other UNHEARD OF, BAFFLING concept.
Cent 2 - If Grant Morrison called upon his magick to reanimate Jack Kirby's skeleton, made sweet but unholy love to it for 40 days and 40 nights, and sired a child in cartoon story form, that child would be Adventure Time.

Jason, thanks for the Strikeforce talk...I missed this series, as it hit the shelves as I stepped out of comics in my mid teens in '85, and had all but wrapped up up when I returned '89-ish. While I've always heard it being referred to fondly, I never really heard a deeper take than the surface 'powers burn out' hook. Great to hear more! You said artist Brent Anderson looked so young in the late '80s, so I can't imagine how green he must've been when he drew KaZar in the early 80s (one of my favorite 'sleeper' titles of all time, with the Bruce Jones Belasco stuff, the Gil Kane and Val Mayerick Tales of Zabu...don't get me started!)

Personally, not feelin' it with the Prophet reboot\relaunch...the whole vibe of the book felt like someone else was trying to channel the spirit of Remender's "Fear Agent". Thank goodness I borrowed a copy from a friend instead of spending the greenbacks on this issue.

To Rob - I would like to take this opportunity to offer up my condolences to a fellow member of the forum during your time of loss and sorrow. May you continue finding the strength that you need from those around you. *** I remember collecting the Strikeforce series back in the day; I loved the darker tone of the series. Wasn't Brent Anderson also doing work on a Ka-Zar ongoing series around that time? Weird War use to sometimes freak me out as a kid with the twist that the stories would take, such as a story about asoldier who sells his soul not to die on D-Day and when he hits the beach he runs around with no fear and then when he gets hit just as he is fading away he finds out that this is not D-Day but a dry run hit on a beach before the big attack! D'Oh! The new Avengers trailers came out this week and I cannot help but chuckle because the city fight scenes look alot like the trailer for a Marvel video game that came out a few years back that was being thrown up on youtube and offered up as a new avengers movie trailer just as a joke.

Sorry to be a downer but I mentioned it earlier in this thread so I thought I'd follow up. I just wanted people to know that my mother passed away at 11:00 this morning. She was a very brave woman who fought the cancer with all of her might. I am very proud of all that she did to remain strong and I am glad that her fear and stress are behind her. I am feeling very peaceful about this having had lovely interactions with her over the past few days.
I really appreciate the kind words, thoughts and prayers from the people on this forum. You all truly made this experience much easier and I took quite a bit of comfort. Blessings to all of you for what you have done for me and my family.
Sincerely, Rob
So sorry to hear brotha. Time to heal. Wishing you big strength right now...

He certainly wasn't the first Spider-man artist I saw, but for my money my guy is Ditko. I would trade in my Romita Artist Edition and pay twice the price for a Ditko one. Romita is great but no one touches the Ditko Spidey. Congrats on all the fun entertainment you have provided. Today is a catch-up day which is always lots of fun.
