I meant that your karma wasn't high enough in light of your good-guyness, so I kicked it up 100 points. Probably won't be the last time I do that.

Thanks Vince...my wife thinks you guys are a bad influence, but it's better than spending all my time in a bar. That’s exactly what I did for my last book. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Globe-Chester-Alamo-Costello/dp/0615339417Yes, shameless self-promotion.

My only guess is that karma is dealt-out like how people who vote in Georgia...

Fortunately, these are college students and if they are of age...a little salty talk and drink...may be needed.

And, one cannot forget the philosophy of drink roll-call. This could evolve into something...I am confident.

Depending on the size of the class that alone can take up one whole session.

David. Can you (or anyone else) point me in the direction of a listing of key Bronze age issues and/or modern day issues. Is there something in the forum archive? I have a pretty good since of what I plan to discuss in regards to silver and golden ages (but suggestions are welcomed).

Nice to hear some Fraction IM talk to bring me upto speed on the recent storylines. I read the series upto the point where he went brain dead and stopped deciding instead to go with the trades - but kinda forgot to start picking the trades up at that point in the run. Since i was enjoying the stuff I still plan to pick them up on the cheap some time... The talk about tony dismissing the idea of one tech/engineer being the spymaster was interesting; it reminds me of way back at the start of the Byrne Superman run when he had a scientist at Lexcorp come up with a computer program that calculated that Superman must be ... CLARK KENT!! ... just to have Luthor dismiss the idea as ridiculous arguing that Kent was too unassuming to be such a powerful individual in his other identity. BTW, I thought Phil Collins was awesome to listen to ... back when I had hair and cassette tapes were all that... Since then i haven't heard too much of him.

Sounds like a fun class. I would also suggest Comic Book History of Comics by Van Lente and Dunleavy. The collected edition is coming out from IDW http://www.amazon.com/Comic-Book-History-Comics-Lente/dp/1613771975Coming in June. Of course you could make them run down the single issues from Evil Twin Publishing to really give them a feel of comic books.

HEY! WHO LET THEM DAMES IN HERE? Seriously, good choices all around, but I think the work of Lynda Barry would have merited inclusion before stuff from those two whippersnappers.

Still catching up on the episodes. For writing teams you can't beat Van Lente and Pak. Two great tastes that go great together or by themselves.
I think another fundamental change in the comic book expectation game is the internet and previews. Everyone is still so forward looking, it is tough to get surprised any more. Now we hear about stuff usually 3 or more months ahead of time. That much time to dissect and pontificate and speculate I think often deflates the books. Even though I don't read previews I still hear all the news. Back in the day, you might find out about a cross-over when it was happening or the month before.
There was an interesting panel about the Artist's Edition at Wondercon. Lots of great stuff coming. They originally were only going to do single printings but I think because the Wally Wood one was so underordered, it might see print again. They also do special editions for a little extra cheddar.
You guys1 never overstay your welcome. Thanks.
1Because I am lazy, I was typing "you guys" but it dawned on me it is a bit of a sausage fest.
