I was late to discovering Gulacy's Master of Kung Fu because of the fact that it's never been reprinted. It's a treasure of the back issue bins. Like Rom, like Kirby's 2001, like Micronauts they'll probably never be reprinted.

Another great thing about Gulacy's MoKF is that if you love Steranko, there's not a lot of Steranko out there. This is the closest you will get to late sixties Steranko.

Hell, yeah! The Steranko vibe is awesome! You're so right about MOKF being a "treasure" of the back issue bins.
One of the coolest comics of the bronze age...NEVER reprinted. Just makes it even cooler, y'know? And Kirby's 2001?
Fucking great! Treasury edition..GIANT Kirby..splash page city! It's like a goddamn portfolio!

BTW, Mr Scioli, much thanks and admiration for your excellent work.

Ooooh, gettin so close to bein' current with my EOC eppies!   Boogie  (I can even see your new-episode-thread-dust from here now!  One Wave )

Vince, its funny you mentioned the MOKF now because I have recently been thinking about digging my issues out and rereading them. To be honest, it was the Zeck stuff that drew me in as ateenager but I have gulacy issues, too and they are daayme suh-weet to peruse!  I might be huntin me some more of those at ECCC. Yes

More and more I am feeling bad about passing on the Wally Wood Artists Edition from IDW, but just like back with the first one  (Dave Stevens) its hard to appreciate what you will be missing out on until you see it somewhere else...or have Chris talk and talk about it making you feel like ... a bad man.  Cry

The upcoming collection of Wood pulp magazine covers should be nice though.

I picked up Intrepids in singles as it came out based on solicits but still have the last couple issues waiting; it didnt really grab me for whatever reason, maybe it was just too similar to Umbrella Academy for me (and not quite on the same level of art and storytelling)?

Wrightson - I gave up on City of Others after the first two issues dont even know how many more came out. I agree with the crowd here that it was dissapointing.

Empowered - Amazon had some preview pages of the collected edition that were fun to browse. Would maybe consider it if found on the cheap.

Getting closer to caught up.  The artist edition books are very cool.  I have 3 of them and I can't recommend them enough.  You can almost pretend that you are holding the original art.  They are expensive but not compared to trying to buy pages of art.  Really fun and I recommend at least checking them out online.  I got the Wally Wood one at Wondercon.  For those that want to splash out a little extra, they also have special editions with different covers.  The Spiderman one was autographed and had a sketch in it.  The Daredevil special edition one should be at SDCC.  I am happy with the regular one.  I went to a panel at Wondercon with the guy putting these together and it was interesting to hear about how it happens and the future plans but danger, danger, danger,
 Thread Hijack

I guess I need to put this stuff in the Wondercon thread.  Thanks for the episode.
