From Bleeding Cool... http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/02/24/brian-bendis-to-take-over-the-x-men-books/We know that Avengers Vs X-Men is meant to have some major changes for the Marvel Universe. Honest, this time. Well, this looks like the first of them.
After Avengers Vs X-Men, we know Brian Bendis is bringing to a close his writing and showrunning of the Avengers comics for Marvel. But what next for their golden child?
I’ve been told by a number of industry sources only one thing. That he’ll be taking over the X-Men books.
Brian Bendis came to the Avengers books with the Avengers Dissassembled storyline that saw the Scarlet Witch take the team apart – and then the world itself in House Of M. Relaunching as The New Avengers, the book would then split in two, in three, before spearheading the Secret Invasion storyline. And with The Ultron War now coming, with Bryan Hitch and Avengers Vs X-Men, it’s time for Brian Bendis himself to switch sides.
Marvel are expected to perform some form of Marvel relaunch, possibly as a wave rather than a DC All-In-One – and one could also argue that Marvel have been doing that for the past couple of years anyway. But Brian Bendis will be the writer of the X-Men titles, in the same way that he writes Avengers and New Avengers now.
I wonder if he’ll be bringing Scarlet Witch with him?The Tiki

I've seen this prediction over and over. That would be a disaster for me. From the X-titles being the best place in years to be probably having to drop some of them.

Well I hardly doubt he would take over the entire line. X Force and Wolverine And The Xmen are critical darlings. Maybe he might be on Uncanny, but I think that's been selling pretty well. Pretty sure they will just make a new title. I would welcome this, as well as the taking X-Men, Astonishing, and Legacy off life support. Clean up the line.

I'd like to see his take on the X-Men. (I just wonder how he's going to work Spider-Man into Uncanny).

I dont hate Bendis, but I would want Siege Bendis. X-Men is a thinking superhero team book, but I would want it to be fast paced too.

Maybe along the same way Gischler did?

from what rob leifeld said on word balloon(the fact that there is to be no new characters for the xmen due to their deal with fox and not wanting to give away licensing) writers are handicapped. Well I hardly doubt he would take over the entire line. X Force and Wolverine And The Xmen are critical darlings. Maybe he might be on Uncanny, but I think that's been selling pretty well. That's what I would figure. I'm sure he would have input on stories for the entire line too. I'm sure there would be something to read like when Slott did Mighty or Secret was launched. X-Men and Astonishing have seemed off on their own for quite a while now. Legacy just got a new creative team so I don't know how much upsetting or the apple cart Marvel would want to do.

I don't know, I wasn't buying that. The way he made those statements sounded more like biased hyperbole then fact. When creators tear others down to build themselves up, I raise an eyebrow. I was getting that same vibe when listening to the WB with Lobdell recently.

I wouldn't be opposed to Bendis on the X-Men, but I'm not sure where he fits although I guess by the time AvX is over in September, the "new" Uncanny and Wolverine & the X-Men titles will be a year old and with double shipping they'll be ~16 issues in. At that time, Remender's X-Force will be about 2 years old and ~30 issues deep. Legacy and Astonishing have just been flailing for a few years and I don't feel like any of the creators on those titles are anyone who are (a) entrenched or (b) anyone Marvel would care about pushing aside for Bendis. Gen Hope just got cancelled. The DnA New Mutants would be about 18 months old.
So....yeah....I could buy a complete redo of the X-books this fall. I just hope they consolidate some. They don't have enough good artists to carry so many books.

But beyond that I haven't been a fan of it in years. Even Ellis, who I'm usually an apologist for when he phones it in, wasn't doing it for me.

Oh....Astonishing has had some entertaining stories. My problem is that I don't really see the point of the series anymore.

Fine for me. Uncanny has been doing nothing for me for awhile. It's one of th books I look forward to least. Wolverine and the X-Men, X-Force and Legacy are strong for me but booth X-Men and Uncanny have left me dry. They need some big ideas in there.

Blease don't let these moves result in removing Aaron from Wolverine and the X-Men or Remender from Uncanny X-Force. That is all. Just please.... don't....please....

I read Uncanny X-Men, X-Force, Wolverine, Wolverine and the X-Men, and I just picked up two issues of Legacy that I quite enjoyed. All these books right now are fantastic and I hope they don't mess with success. I'm sure Bendis will get a crack at them eventually, I just hope it's later then sooner. I like Bendis quite a bit, but why change what is working? O, sales, I forgot...
