The corner at the top back of the slipcase was a bit crushed in maybe a one inch area. This did cause about a one inch rip in The covering paper also about one inch long which wasnt too bad because it was right along the edge

Yeah, something that's an inch is something I'd complain about.  I've only had minor dings like maybe 1/8" to 1/4"

I got my Wally Wood artist edition this week, I can't believe how good it is.

I just started wading into the pool of collecting EC sci-fi books, which have most of the original stories from this artist edition. The print quality of the original does not do Wally Wood's art justice. His artwork is incredible. I'm really glad I got this one.

hey don't stop at the scifi only!  while its great, the horror, crime, humor and even romance stuff is awesome too!

one of my collecting 'feats of strength' was to obtain a complete collection of the russ cochrane oversized black and white slipcase editions... this probably took me about 20 years and mucho dinero to aquire but its the 'jewel' of my colelction!

I'm starting with the sci-fi stuff to wet my feet, and I'll go from there. My first collecting task is to put together a full run of Weird Science-Fantasy. Since it's only 7 issues, I don't think that will be too hard.

If I like that, I'll start to get Weird Science and Weird Fantasy.

I also have an issue or two of Crime SuspenStories, and I may consider collecting that and Shock SuspenStories.

Since I'm buying the original issues, it is a slow task. I figure I'll buy a handful of issues a year.

Got in my Artist Edition of Born Again and Groo the Wanderer today.

That's a bit overwhelming with the awesome. I know the boys are going to be talking about Mazzuchelli next week, but that Aragones art is also really blowing me away.

And they lived happily ever after.

As a side note, I was kind of bummed that the Con exclusive does not have the braille.   I thought that was a seriously cool design element for a DD book.

It doesn't?  That is kind of a bummer.  I would think if you're paying for an exclusive, you'd have the basic 'model' plus extras (limited print run, signatures with CoA, what have you).

Well, we got a signature & a nice slipcase.......  but they apparently didn't work the braille into the design, maybe because the bumps would rub against the slipcase when inserting the book or something.

Anyone order from IDW directly?  I am still waiting on my Groo AR and I saw stacks of them at SDCC.  I will never order from them again as it is a trainwreck (and no break on price).  I thought I was being so clever.   Surrender  I like IDW as a publisher but not as an on-line retailer.

I ordered my copies of the Wally Wood 2nd print directly from IDW. Didn't have any problems, other than paying full price, tax, and shipping.

I think the issue was that they were not shipping the regular Groo AE's until they were released to comic shops (which was last Weds).   So yours should have shipped some time in the past week.

I'll be getting my regular Groo AE in my DCBS box that should arrive tomorrow, even though I got the con exclusive at SDCC and saw the regular ones there too.

I ordered my Wally Wood and Buscema AE's directly from them and got them rather quickly without any issues.
