In June, all Marvel Superhero 3.99 comics include a digital copy. Thoughts?

i go to restaurants in my spare time for enjoyment, talk about them and etc.., are restaurants my hobby?

no, neither are comics.

comics is something i might uses or get during one of my hobbies. comics could be a hobby but again not for me.

well what i was getting to is  that what is a hobby is very subjective. according to all of those definition texting COULD be a hobby, just buying and talking about comics does mean it has to be a hobby for me.

I agree. I should have been more clear but all I was really trying to say is that I don't think it matters.

I wasn't arguing. I was asking. I agree it's semantics and doesn't matter. I just never came across someone on a forum who reads and discusses comics that felt it wasn't a hobby for them. Don't really care, I just like to stop and stare at the unusual.

no you were not being meaning.  comics are a large part of many of my hobbies but it's not a hobby for me.

back to the codes for digital copies. do you think that at the very least this might get digital foot in the door for some comic fans that don't want to go to digital? i have found a lot of people say "i comics go all digital (never happen, paper is the new vinyl) i will stop reading comics."

I guess there's no reason NOT to give the digital copy with purchase of the hardcopy. It seems kind of strange to me, since getting the digital copy in addition to the hardcopy doesn't seem like much extra value.

If Marvel offered an option of a free digital download with each comic purchase, or a free bag and board with each comic purchase, I'd take the bag and board.

Of course, what I'd really prefer is to just get the digital version for $1.99 instead of $3.99.

It's a step in the right direction, but it does nothing to sway more toward buying more Marvel. I agree that this is more to get floppy buyers to start trying out digital.

It would be nice if they could manage to get the Marvel site to work properly in Firefox......   I really don't want to use Chrome just because Marvel is in bed with Google.

I like it.  I read it the first time in print, then if I want to read it a couple of years later, when the next issue comes out, whatever, I can pull up the digital copy much easier than locating my print copy.

Marvel was (and is) charging $3.99 for many print comics.  For the price you were being charged anyway you get a digital license. 

As for the back issue/value questions -- if they keep doing it the way they currently do you only have about a year from the release date to register the digital code.
