This is awesome!

Question. I apologize if its been asked / clarified previously in the thread.

Are we free to add / drop stuff after April first? For example I am reading a series with a goodreads fantasy book club at the moment, but this first book is leaving me pretty cold. If i added the next two books to my list, am I free to swap them out out I decided not to finish the series.

Personally I don't plan on dropping anything once it's added. IMO the point is to try and push myself (especially for a few categories that have long standing Regina books).  I do plan on filling in those categories I'll be short on April 1st (non-comics for example).  I read a bunch of non-comics stuff, but it typically doesn't pile up and I don't plan it out.

That being said, I don't make the rules here, so it's just interpretation.

I'll give the opposite end of the spectrum, I only have maybe 6 - 12 books here. I'm relying on books I've ordered to come, and on some things that aren't even scheduled to be released. I will have to shuffle things around. I don't think the point is to force things just to meet a quota. Read what you're interested in.

Personally I'm against a whole lot of swapping out; I think part of the challenge is to set the goal and then work to get it. But everyone's got their own little interpretations, so as long as you're completing 81 items, I won't really be able to argue with you!

In another note: I only have 2 suggestions from you guys so if you have any suggestions please do DM me and I'll add them to the list. I don't technically need them ahead of time but it would make things a little bit easier.

I am going to leave all my comic stuff set in stone, but I can't do it for the non comic category. I read mainly Sci-fi and fantasy, which is hardly ever a 300 page read, if I fall on something I don't like, it will just bog the whole thing down. Too much out there to read to waste it on stuff I am not enjoying.

This made me spreadsheet everything I own that I haven't read.

Not a final list, there some stuff i have been eyeing i will order that I need to fit in, and a few from the regina i can't find a category for. Note that these categories are ROUGH. I wanted to get all my unread stuff into this, before buying now stuff to fill it up.

SINGLES ARE LIKE WEEDS

My biggest source of unread stuff comes from singles, which I just keep buying! The following contains 54 single issues (6 X 9) of things I can see myself never getting to to fill out one category.

Action Comics   2,3,4
Aquaman   2,3,4

Frankenstien agent of shade   3,4

Beanworld vol. 3
The Coffin
Spider-man: Black Cat
Tales of the Fear Agent

LITTLE ROBOT BOY

Pluto Vol. 1 to 8 (first full re-read)
Pinocchio

NON COMIC

This list I am not going to have set in stone, for I am a slow reader and 9 books will be like a flat 9 month plan (Which definitely ruins the enjoyment for me)

House of Leaves - M. Danielewski

Pandora's Star (the Commanwealth saga 1) - P. F. Hamiltion

Depending on liking the first volume:

The Alloy of law (Mistborn 4) - B. Sanderson

Alternatives if I bail on anything or the mood takes me:
Red Seas Under Red Skies (Gentelmen Bastards 2) - S. Lynch
the Hunger Games trilogy - S. Collins
Leviathan Wakes - J. Coery
Horns - Joe Hill

Making up my list and this is going to be a lot easier then I thought. I have enough new stuff to read to do the challenge twice over. Damn digital sales  Wink  The main part of this challenge will be me finally getting off my ass and reading all the Top Shelf,  Hellboy, BPRD and generally all the Mignola verse stuff I bought on sale.

20th Century Boys v.3
Metabarons

In Your Travels... ( Starting April 1, I'll take the first 9 OGN/collected editions the guys suggest during that segment that I haven't already read and won't break the bank, ie. not doing an IDW artist edition or $100 Omnibus.)

Stuff I need to fit in somewhere:
Richard Stark’s Parker The Score
Spider-man Big Time Ultimate collection
Spider-man Spider-Island
Fables v. 14, 15

I have no idea how I'll finish all of this before the end of the year.  I'm taking some liberties with the 9, but I've got more than enough reading material here in the house to make it hard to finish everything this year.  If I meet this challenge I'll have completely eradicated my regina pile.
