I'll vote option one. I'll never make it and will likely need to buy some books to make an attempt. But I could always use another reason to build the library.

I vote option 1 as I don't want people to have to go out and buy stuff to fill up a category. I do plan on using it on mine however!

Well, it looks like Option 1 takes the win, so things will stay as they are. However, I would definitely encourage everyone who's able to take a "Blindspots" category. I know I am going to.
I'm going to say that everyone is free to sign up until April 1, but if you want to DM me your personal suggestions for categories I'll dole them out next Monday, so you'll still have basically a week to come up with the rest of your categories (or if you're Ryan, to figure out which category to cut). Thanks again for the interest, guys; let me know if you have any more suggestions or questions!

Dr. Teeth! Is posting in this thread stating we wish to join the sign up process? Just making sure I didn't miss an official digital sign up list anywhere or anything.

Posting here & saying you're interested is all it takes. I may set up some kind of Tumblr where we can post reviews or something (delusions of grandeur) but if you wanted to sign upyou've already done it!

Devin, have you mentioned this on the Facebook page? Or does it make things unwieldy if there are folks over there that aren't on the forum? That's why I've been hesitant to post the challenge there.

I'm tempted by this, and lord knows I've got a big pile to go through, but I'm not sure I've got the time to read 9 trades/omniboo/essential/showcases a month. I keep getting ideas for categories though.

I think "Self Traded Regina Reads" is a key category.

I haven't mentioned it on the Facebook page, mostly because...well, I'm not on Facebook. And I didn't know that it existed. I know, I know: I'm a monster. So yes, please feel free to mention it there, but I'm not going to be moderating it over there because I don't have an account. If you do mention it there, apologize to them for me, but you can also say that it's just extra impetus for them to come over to the forum!

I keep getting ideas for categories though. You can do it! Or rather, you can sign up and try your best! I don't know if I'm going to make it through either, to be honest, but that's why it's a challenge. And if you don't sign up: you can always give me suggestions for the other guys!

One of the categories is supposed to be non comic book, correct? Can it be comic themed? For example, Kirby King of Comics would be okay? My other question; do we need to know what we're reading from the start, because I don't have much of a regina pile. My plan is to buy books that fit into the categories I pick and fill in as I go. My category list: HorrorCreepy v.2 Eerie v.2 B.P.R.D. Plague of Frogs v. 3 FantasySavage Sword of Conan v. 1 SkullKickers v. 2 Stuff of Legend v.3 Blind spot (books I haven't read but should have) Sandman Non ComicKirby: King of Comics AnthologyComicBook Tattoo Ka-Blam! (May change this one, but I like the idea of supporting this service) That's un-American! (Manga, European, etc.) Suggestions please. In Your Travels... ( Starting April 1, I'll take the first 9 OGN/collected editions the guys suggest during that segment that I haven't already read and won't break the bank, ie. not doing an IDW artist edition or $100 Omnibus.) I'm sending my category suggestion off to the good Dr.

For the un-american I think my European list is pretty good, I'd add Blacksad to it. Tin Tin and Asterix/Obelix are also some classic BDs, but I don't know how easy it would be to get collected versions of them.
Usual Manga suggestions I get are: Pluto, Death Note, 20th Century Boys and One Piece.
If you're in the digital camp and can speak another language check out AveComics, it's a european digital comics app. I know they have some big stuff like Adele Blanc-Sec and the Incal, haven't bought them form there but I assume they're only in French and not bilingual.
