That was quick! Didn't even give me time to reply Bobgar Apologizes needs to be a tv show or something. Way more entertaining that most of what I see on tv It could be a daily podcast
naw I just didn't want the backlash from all the One Piece lovers that may not know that I was just fucking with Dan and not besmirching the OP. No big deal. another podcast? I'd be crazy to want to start yet another one...

I am more than hallway through the episode, but I have to say I loved the FF discussion. I agree with Chris that a story that is published monthly has to payoff both at the end of the story arc and during. I was one of those who loved Hickman's FF run until issue 6, the return of Black Bolt. I thought the story momentum was hurt by that two issue filling by Greg Tocchini. While he is a good artist, he wasn't the right fit for FF. That said, some momentum was gain back with issue 600, an issue which I loved. That said, after reading the final chapter of Hickman's story arc, I thought it ended well, but not as great as some people thought (i.e. I liked it a lot but didn't think it was the greatest thing). And honestly, the art overall wasn't the best fit for the book.
One other point, Jason's regina pile seems huge!!! Mine continues to grow as well. Sometimes I wonder if I should switch more to trades, but I like being able to read the single issue if I want as opposed to waiting for the trade.

I think my disc is one of the first DVDs ever pressed because it's the only movie I own where I have to eject it and turn it over to play the second half.
Me too. Side A and B. only DVDi have like that.

ASM Annual 1 is very important. It set the president that Spider-man was just that good. He took on six of his Rogue gallery in one non-stop fight. Ditko also got to showcase all of those great villains that he created.
I think that was the first time that a comic had the superhero take on that many at once.
Batman 1 recently had that same concept in the opening pages but did not have the same results thematically. (Still really great though)

Wednesday Comics was just DC's very well thought out answer to Marvel's Indy Strange Tales, which were phenomenal.
Wednesday Comics was not a reaction of Marvel's Indy Strange Tales. Strange Tales was a reaction to DC's Bizzaro Comics, which was published as years early as an original hardcovers (Bizarro Comics in 2001 and the sequel Bizzaro World in 2005). They were both anthologies done by alternative creators. Besides Wednesday Comics came out before Strange Tales. The first issue of Wednesday Comics came out in July 2009, while first issue of Strange Tales Max came out in September 2009. More on the history of Strange Tales is below. http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/new-titles/adult-announcements/article/391-in-marvel--s--strange-tales---indie-artists-take-on-superhero-icons-.html

someone might have mentioned it- but before starting his FF run, hickman read every issue of fantastic four. it shows in his work. those who can look past the little nitpicks, and prejudice of sales gimmicks(beyond his control) will find little touches in his run that are callbacks.

To echo Vince. Just PM us.
There is so much stuff going on here and everywhere else that we honestly forget to mention things.
That, and I'm usually drunk.
Speaking of drunk, I was drunk when I listened. Were you the one who said you had trouble finding McSweeny's since Borders closed? If so, try Quimby's or Chicago Comics.

Were the text pages beyond his control? As for the Marvel-marketed death issue, when I read it, it was obvious there was no death. I'll probably read it. Eventually. Long after the hype has died down. Just like I'm doing with Blackest Night.

With each passing month, I'm more let down by the New 52, a few titles excepted. Massive potential to break the same-old cycle almost completely squandered. Aside from a few costume and role changes, there's almost nothing new about this 52. Why would you expect any different? I do think it's funny that you can be so down on mainstream comics but praise Michael Bay. Bay is the DC Comics of movies. But my view is everyone should dig what they dig, and as long as you don't get down on me for not liking the same stuff as you, it's cool. In other words, just don't turn into Gary Groth.

Benefit of the doubt? Who wants to go through life expecting the worst, whether it's inevitable or not?
