I received an e-mail from DCBS that this series has been cancelled by the publisher.  Angry  I'll have to track down the original magazines now as I was really looking forward to this reprint series. Yes

I was really looking forward to these reprints.  I wonder if the cancellation was due to low orders or if they ran into a issue with securing the rights to the original work.  At least the magazines seem to be readily available in reading condition off of ebay and such.

Ahhh, I wasn't pre-ordering them because I was hoping they would be collected.  Now I feel like part of the reason for it being cancelled.

Nah. Since it's reprint material, they could have gone right to the trade. Why reprint something like that in single issue form.

To get two revenue streams from it?  Thinking

Yeah, but I guess that plan backfired. There are tons of examples where companies went directly to collected editions of previously published material, ie. Creepy, Eerie, Nexus, Alien Legion, the Marvel Star Wars and Indiana Jones series, etc. And those are much more popular series.

I hope they get them out in some other form. I've been wanting to read them since I read an excellent history of the run in comic book artist some years back
