Erick I thought the same exact thing. What happened in this issue was very odd.

I was totally fine with it. This issue was 10x better than #2. Still utterly ridiculous, but in a fun old-school Avengers way. But most importantly, JRJR was back on his game this issue.

The fight between Cap and Wolverine? Perfect example of JRJR sequencing action well (as opposed to the chaotic disaster that was issue #2's action.

That I do agree with. There were some very good shots in this issues. Makes me believe he did not draw all of the second issue.

I didn't care about the events that happened, just the way they transpired so quickly.

Issue 3 was far more grounded than 2.

Mo' wacker than ever.

making Wolverine the "wildcard" huh..that's new. but it was handled so hamfisted. Again this proves why Brubaker really doesn't gel with anything mutant wise.

I actually don't have a huge problem with how Wolverine's been handled so far.  What I feel is hamfisted is how quickly Captain America flipped his fascist switch.

Isn't he the guy who should be throwing out quotes like "Any man who'd trade Liberty for Security deserve neither"?

Well, if Iron Man is not going to be a dick, I guess it falls to Steve.... That was really weird.  The fight was nice though, I guess this is their weird way to make Wolverine not just be on the side of the Avengers for the whole series... but yah, Wolverine being the agent of chaos is just going to make him ineffective.  All he talked about during Children's Crusade is killing Wanda, he never even came close.

I thought this issue was a lot of fun and much better than #2, especially the art.

That said, I thought everyone was acting so out of character, especially Captain America. Maybe they should have gotten a writer that wrote Captain America before.  No

For me, the biggest criticism I have about this whole AvX series is connected back to the Avengers movie. So far, nothing in AvX has been anywhere as exciting as what I saw in The Avengers, yet AvX is being told in a medium with theoretically limitless possibilities. Maybe the Hickman issues will be better.

put hickman and pellitier on this and make it 6 or 8 and you'd have a home run

DCBS shipment has been received so I was able to read #1 & #2 yesterday. Really liked #1. The final exchange between Cap and Scott before the fighting started was great. That right there was worth the price of admission for me. #2 was just ok. Aaron gives us a different mood, as expected. It just didn't do much for me.

As Jason and others have stated, this is not JRJR's best work. The storytelling is fine, but the art seems inconsistant and rushed. That's disappointing.

I'll be pulling this and the VS issues until the end. Should make a decent bind no matter what the story brings us.

One question (sorry if I missed it)...What the heck are the red 'AR' boxes throughout each issue trying to tell me?

I thought the entire Marvel editorial directive since Morrison left has been a jab at his run.  Until Remender and Aaron that is.

No More Mutants.
3 words unraveled secondary mutations and the imminent demise of the human species in the face of massive mutant growth.  Xorn wasn't Magneto, he was Xorn's confused brother? I think?  It's been a while since I've read it, but I remember going.. oh, that's been undone... that's gone... etc...

I would argue that the last several years have been built on the back of House of M, and is a complete inverse of what Morrison created.

Okay I'm now upto date with AVX having read the main event issues and most of the tie ins (the ones in books im reading plus AVX:VS) and I think I'm enjoying this possibly more than most of the recent events fron DC or Marvel, its big, dumb fun blockbuster type comics to me and this brings a certain level of enjoyment.

I agree with what everyone said about the Cap/Wolverine exchange at the end of the book, it just came out of nowhere and  i didnt see anything from wolverine that would have prompted it.

The tie in books have been fine but haven't really added a great deal to the story so far, although i quite liked the idea of the new avengers tie in rather than showing more of the events of AVX attempted to create some back story. I knew what AVX:vs was going to be going in but thought i would give it a try, fine for what it was but wont be getting any more of these issues.

Have a feeling that this isnt going to end well for my mutants
