no big surprise, the first issue basically read like a pitch for a show, very much in the vein of "leverage."

Man, I know it isn't really the type of show AMC does, and it really should be a movie, but all I'm saying is can a brother get some Brit in his life?
Also, I wonder how much contact Kirkman has with the brass at AMC? I know as a creator he's going to push his own stuff (as he should), but as a big wig at Image I wonder if he's able to bring to light so many of the comic series that are TAILOR MADE for the AMC/FX cable tv world.

Good for them. I didn't think much of the #1 issue and haven't been back, but I'm all for people getting paid!

isn't it bad enough that there are so many terrible comics, now we have to have a plethora of terrible comic tv shows too.

After having virtually no interest in it I later bought the first issue after I heard some things about it. Digging that Shawn Martinbrough art. So I hope it doesn't negatively effect the comics series because after Walking Dead who knows how the TV show would turn out.

Is Nick Spencer listed as a creator of the series? I listened to an interview where I got the impression that the book is supposed to have a changing roster of writer-collaborators with Kirkman.
I hope Spencer is getting his cut.

I haven't read my copy of Thief of Thieves yet, but this proves what many of us already knew...success begets success. In Hollywood, if you get a win, you can parlay that into so many more opportunities. You would be an IDIOT to not press your advantage because you never know when it's going to dry up.

That's funny. But actually I believe Kirkman is to Image what Mike Richardson is to Dark Horse. the Tiki

Good for him. The concept is great, but I'm not sold on it's current execution. The comic seems to be moving at a glacial pace, and the main character hasn't hooked me; I'm dropping the book as of issue 3, but I'll certainly watch the series. I think it will play better on TV.

The only thing I read of the book was the text piece in the back of the first issue. Which is hilarious now because it was all about how this was a story designed for comics and how great and important comics are. (Also didn't help the layouts and pacing of this books is so bland and uninspired)
