from iFanboy.com http://ifanboy.com/articles/c2e2-2012-exclusive-ryan-stegman-joins-jonathan-hickman-on-fantastic-four-interview/Today we’re happy to share the news that Ryan Stegman, self professed sexy bad boy of comics himself, will be joining Fantastic Four starting with issue #609, still written by Jonathan Hickman. The move will take Stegman off Scarlet Spider, the fun clone spinoff written by Chris Yost, where Stegman has blowing away the eyeballs of anyone lucky enough to flip through the pages, and put him on the biggest name title of his career.
Replacing Stegman on Scarlet Spider is Khoi Pham, most recently seen in the pages of Daredevil #10.1.
iF: Have you figured out the best shortcut to having to draw all the little rocks on Ben Grimm, or are you just going to let the inker worry about it?
RS: Well, I’m gonna ink this book. So there’s no leaving it up to anyone but myself. I’m sure that when I pencil I’ll leave most of it to the inks though and get really frustrated with myself. Ah, comics.
iF: Do you ever worry that Marvel is trying to kill you with an increased workload on continually higher profile books.
RS: The combination of higher profile jobs plus having a 14 month old son AND having a Detroit Tigers team that has high expectations are probably doing a number on my physical health, yes. I have two gray hairs in my beard now. In short, I just booked a room at the old folks home for when this year is over.

This is cool, but personally I'd rather have Pham on Fantastic Four and Stegman stay on Scarlet Spider

so if my math is correct, we'll probably get about 3 stegman issues before the end of hickman's run?

My first thought was how tickled I was for Ryan since he's a nice guy and this is a feather in his cap. But the other was an eye-rolling over the way Marvel announces these artist changes when at BEST they're going to do 6-10 issues before moving on. And more likely they're going to do an 3-4 issue arc. They kinda give it all the pomp of an artist arriving who will guide the franchise for the next 4-5 years. As for Pham....I'm glad he's going to a title that I don't care about. He's done some decent work in the past, but has been rough for the last few years. I'd rather see him there than being the fill-in artist on every other title.

Which I think will also connect with whatever the ending of AvX will be.
Marvel's going to be having some big writer swaps after this I bet.

yeah, i mean, it's really cool they're giving him the attention of a high profile gig and the big announcement, and i look forward to it. but yeah, seems like a big deal over what will really be a small batch of issues.

Hickman's run will be going out in style!!!! Just talked to Stegman at his booth at C2E2, he was quite clearly extremely excited to draw the FF universe of characters. Can't wait!

So now Vince has no excuse to avoid hickmans ff any longer. Even if it is only for 3 issues

Good job of following the cardinal rule of drunk posting: Keep it very short.

I think Pham deserves more work. But you can tell this the age of the writer and not the artist anymore. It feels like a bait and switch with artists. When they say "regular artist" they really mean maybe 5-6 issues.
