Didn't William Burroughs do a spot of drinking and target shooting with his wife? Hmm.

Yep. Didn't end well. I just read the story in that Burroughs book I had at C2E2 about a guy cutting his finger off to impress a girl, and lo and behold it was based on something Burroughs did. (Though, Burroughs being Burroughs, he was trying to impress a boy.)

Between Filip, Haun and myself, we spent over $100 on Old Fashioneds.
It was epic, Jason.
Gah. So mad I wasn't there this year.

Love that movie! By the way, it doesn't age well. Think of the production values of a reallllly bad Lifetime movie.

Haven't thought about that movie in over a decade. Rented the hell out of it in the 80s, many a weekend watching that, Monster Squad, and Peanut Butter Solution back to back to back.

Some good stories in the road trip stuff. "There's a cow." Or "Ugh. Fleetwood Mac?" Finished the round table which was little a fly on the wall like. Some weird tangents and I didn't always know what everyone was laughing at but it was funny. The return of the Stan lee voice!

I always look forward to these con recap episodes. They are a great rememberence of a good time and a peak behind the curtain of your experiences as well.
As I said in the C2E2 thread, it was awesome getting to meet VinceB, my virtual mentor of visual entertainment. Also great to see David and Chris, though I'm not sure how either of them recognized me. Memories like a steel trap I guess.
Do we have enough Tale of Sand OA owners to start a fraternity? The Knights Perez should convene at C2E2 next year. Speaking of Perez pages: Wood, listen to me. Perez illustrated an issue of Deadpool Team Up written by Skottie Young. He has a page for sale from this issue. It is a full page splash of Galactus and your boy in space. It is for sale on his website, and is frighteningly affordable. It has your name written all over it, and I would be sad if anyone but you owned it.
Regarding the writer of Critical Millenium, Andrew Gaska: I confess, it was I that name dropped 11OC when I had my copy signed. I just purchased CM while taking advantage of Archaia's sale, and explained I was excited to read it after Vince waxed poetic. He seemed aware of your influence. And, while Vince sold me on the book, Gaska sold me on the series. If he gets to do what he envisions, this thing is going to be epic.

I have to give it up to Vince on the Kubert tattoo story. It's always awkward and daunting enough to be a fanboy to someone you admire, but to ask them for an autograph to get it tattooed is down right brave (or insane, as Wood put it. ). Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Russ my friend! I almost bought that very page at LAST year's C2E2, but didn't because it was on Sunday and I had already dropped mad ducats and it felt impulsive.

Jason was eyeballing that page a couple others from that issue at C2E2 2011 while we talked to the man. They are indeed gorgeous. I remember my Twitter feed getting pinged because he heard the episode and was giddy over Vince's review. Good times.

I'm guessing Vince has the same "just hurry the fuck up!" reaction to The Kindly Ones that I do.
The series was crazy solid up until that point..

I have to once again express here just how much I love my Tale of Sand page! I look at it for a solid 30 second just about every time I walk by the framed page in my hall (first original comic art I've ever had on the wall--and from what will certainly be a CLASSIC book! Woooooooot!!!!

Enjoyed the bonus content and the main episode. Lovely work gents. I second the Christos Gage work on Academy. I jumped on right before Fear Itself and am loving it. I did get the Simonson Avengers book (not reading it normally). I think his recent work on the Legion book better (#5). Not sure if it is the color, inking or paper. I like them both but I thought the Legion stuff really was better. Interested in other opinions.

This week's episode was the biggest Bro hug ever. What a great bunch of guys, but let's not forget Wendi Freeman. She was awesome and was one of the (many) highlights of my week. We really need to do an official meet up next year. I volunteer to coordinate.
