Well after his 1st arc of Fairest (the Fables spinoff) he is ending his working relationship w/ DC Comics.

While I enjoyed both Fables Cinderella miniseries very much & appreciated his efforts on Superman Grounded arc once JMS bailed. I look forward to see what he plans on doing next in the comics industry.

Good for him, sounds like he was not happy with the business side of the company.  I hope that he either goes to Marvel or IDW or Dark Horse and does something cool or goes indie and does his own books his way.

I would love if he went to Marvel and did a monster book, have him relaunch Werewolf By Night or Dr Strange.

If he was unhappy with the business side of DC, he isn't going to go to Marvel. They are both the same in that regards.

Chris Roberson is a talented guy who will certainly find footing elsewhere. I applaud him for sticking to his principles.

Sometimes though, I really wish I never knew a thing about the behind the scenes stuff. I just wanna read some good comics. I try really hard to separate creators/businesses from the product, but it's too difficult sometimes.

I read comics for entertainment, I don't want to work through the drama to enjoy the story. That's my own fault though. Stupid internets.  Bangs Head

That's my thinking as well.

it's too bad that he was so unhappy with his working situation, but i can't say i'm heartbroken over this news.  i think the only thing of his i've read was about 7 issues of i, zombie.

He said he wasn't leaving because of something they did to him, just their overall stance. Which frankly is odd.  He also mentioned no DC or Marvel.

This sucks, but I have liked his independent stuff a lot more. Memorial is a fantastic book. I hope he does more like it.

Good for him. I look at this as good news. I much rather see more creators creating new characters than just focusing their energy on trying to get a chance to write Batman or Spider-Man.

Sigh. It seems you can't speak out against the big 2 in any way & you are canned even if you do quit. I still look forward to whatever Chris has planned in the future.

It's amateur hour to bite the hand that feeds you via social networking while still expecting payments from them, anyone knows that.

 Agree

What was he expecting. It's one thing to have a rant on Twitter, but to interview on a major industry news site and slag off the company you work for is silly. What was his Fairist arc due to run for 4 to six issues? That's like half a years worth of pay checks, not to mention the extra exposure.

...or he know what the outcome would be and did this to get out of the contract. not saying that's what happened, but it's a possibility.
