21.04.2012 is the international Record Store Day.
I haven't gone yet, but I will be going today to get some nice 7" vinyls and possibly some other stuff, although I am on a budget. But I thought that, since I know there are people here who will be partaking to the event, it might be fun to have a place to post what I got, and possibly see what you got so go on show me your treasures.

My husband has a crap load reserved at a store down in Little Rock (3 hours away) that one of our friends is picking up.  We'll be hitting the local stores too for the two records they didn't get down there.  Not sure what all is on his list, but I know it tops out around $200.

I'd love to get a copy of that Carolina Chocolate Drops/RUN-D.M.C. split.

I couldn't make it to a shop early in the morning but a friend of mine picked me up the Townshend demos 10", the Paul Weller 45 and the PiL and Death Cab for Cutie remix EPs.  I finally made it to Princeton Record Exchange later in the day to see if I could still snag the Small Faces singles but they were out.

I picked up the following albums

Miles Davis
Jukebox the Ghost
Atmosphere
Aretha Franklin/Otis Redding: Respect
Carolina Chocolate Drops/Run DMC: You be Illin
Sara Bareilles

Jukebox the Ghost and The Miles Davis album is simply amazing to listen to.

The Atmosphere album is just fun to look at.

My tiny loot was
 7" Arctic Monkeys
Regina Spektor sings two Bulat Okudzhava songs in Russian
10" HotChip Night &Day Daphni Mix
10" Tallest Man on Earth King of Spain Single (with an awesome version of Paul Simon's Graceland.)

I hate myself for spending too much earlier in the week and having to pass up on some stuff.  Next year I'll save up for this thing.

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison
