That might just be the coolest thing I've ever seen.
I am woefully under read when it comes to Kings stuff, and chances are things will stay that way as a lot of the books just are of no interest to me, but I am fascinated by how King's books are all connected. I've found myself on more than one occasion looking at how the Dark Tower pulls in references from his other books. It's just a really neat bit of business.

It's definitely not his best book but I remember as a kid reading Eyes of the Dragon (a unique book for King) and realizing how he was connecting his books and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world.
I'm also fond of Wizard and Glass.

I have never checked that one out but I need to. There are so many King books even if you feel like you have read most of them you seem to be missing something significant.
Here are some of the ones I haven't read but plan to soon.
-The Talisman -The Dead Zone -Carrie -Under The Dome

I started reading another King book this weekend.
I'm about 30% through Everythings Eventual. I really hope he continues to put out short stories. I'm very excited to see that he has two books already slated for release in 2013. I've been on a short story kick this year and so often I am let down. In collections that are all done by one author, there are usually as many misses as hits. With the anthology style collections, I usually find myself bored. I had really high hopes for Neil Gaimans, Fragile Things and while it certainly wasn't bad. I got bored, often.
Then there is King. I read Full Dark No Stars, Night Shift, Just After Sunset, In the Tall Grass, and Road Rage this year. In Just After Sunset there was perhaps one maybe two stories that I didn't care for. The rest of the stuff was head and shoulders abover all other short stories I consumed this year.
I don't know what it is about that man. He obviously passed it down to his son as well. They write short stories that keep you reading, and make you hungry for the next one.

I don't have any thoughts but I finally started reading this over the weekend. I usually jump on new King books quickly but I guess the size of this novel caused me to keep puttin this one off. After I saw the short preview for the show on the super bowl I decided I needed to jump on it before the show starts. I'm only about 250 pages in and I am loving this novel so far. I really enjoy the style he went with here as far as chapter construction is concerned. Having really short chapters and bouncing around the town is a great way to make a long novel seem short. I read those 250 pages in a couple sittings and I can't wait to read the rest. As soon as I'm done I will definitely be looking at stuff for the show until then I hope to avoid it.

Karma Lawrence! I too have had the book sitting on my shelf since its release date, and just haven't gotten around to it. Then JimN talked up Audible and I joined the service, and grabbed the audio book version as my first credit, mainly because of bang for my buck (it's 49 hours of audio book!). I've been listening to it of late and it's terrific so far. I had no idea they were making it into a show until the Super Bowl preview.

It's taken me a couple weeks (I've been reading more comics recently) but I'm 70% through Under The Dome.
I am loving this book. I know this is a project that King started about 20 years ago and then shelved because he thought he wasn't ready for it yet. Either way, I'm of the mind that King is getting better with age as far as long form novels go.
The pacing of this book is near perfect, the ability to juggle twenty characters and never confuse the reader, the multiple threads that constantly weave in and around each other. It's a master class on how to write a suspense novel.
I can't wait to finish it. I wish I had the time to sit for a long period and read that last 300-400 pages in a sitting.

I trailed off reading King a while ago, around Needful Things but read a lot of his old stuff. My favorite was always Salem's Lot

This list is incredible, even though I don't agree with most of. Personally I loved Insomnia, the Dark Tower series (The Drawing of the Three would be in my top 5-7) and I thought Tommyknockers was pretty good too. I think having Desperation and Regulators so far apart is difficult since they are supposed to go together (in some weird King way). But my favorite King book of all time is IT. In my opinion it is the perfect King book.

Having his new joint, Joy Land, - a crime book - sent to me this week. I can't recall the last time I requested a King book, must have the bug.
As an aside the Hard Case Crime Imprint traditionally have ridiculously awesome covers, an a lot of them are done by Glen Orbik.
