first off, i adore junk food. love it. right now, i'm a junk food snob. i'll eat a burger, but i'll wait until i'm at a decent burger place rather than stopping by at the local mickey d's or BK. same with pizza. i'd travel farther just to eat at my favorite pizza joint rather than dominoes or pizza hut or little ceasar's which are nearer.

that said, i'm morbidly fascinated and curious to try these:

pizza hut cheeseburger crust pizza

http://www.youtube.com/v/MWDwZWCfp64&rel=1

chicken fillet crust pizza

http://youtu.be/HyChu2ZKN5I

(BTW, not available in the US. middle east countries only i think.)

====

also, this establishment:

just opened a branch in my town. haven't tried it yet. according to yelp, they're still finding their groove. i might wait a bit until they've settled down.

Where as down here in Yorkshire as long as you can put chips (fries i guess) with the food and cover it in gravy all is good.

i met an irisihman the other day who lived in glasgow and we had a conversation about deep fried products. he was of course a fan of the deep fried mars bars, and i told him about how i had a deep fried moon pie at the state fair here last year.

Down here in the South we love to fry everything but the fried cheesecake, Oreo and fried Cadbury Eggs that you see at the state fairs is a little too much for even me.

My junk food consists of daily doses of honey buns, Sun Drop (soda), and Little Debbie cakes of any kind. I also love the mixed bag of the mini size chocolate bars with 3 Musketeer, Milky Way, Snickers, and Twix. I'm a sucker for any type of ice cream or cereal too.

I have nothing against junk food, but have an aversion to grease and in general to chains.

That said Boston is a great place for totally independant pizza, burger and taco places. Better yet you start to discover foreign fast foods like Banh Mi sandwiches, pupusas, gyros and those insanely good korean bbq wings.

That said I'm a sucker for 7/11 "go go taquitos" which are awful, bottom of the barrel, but so good as a middle of the day snack.

anybody try the dorito chip taco bell taco? it any good?

best taco i had is carnitas tacos from santana's in san diego. tender, caramelized chopped roast pork with a freshly fried crispy shell.

a california chain, rubio's, has GREAT shrimp and fish tacos. gourmet garlic shrimp comes grilled shrimp (you can taste the char) with avocado slices, burnt cheese, and bacon bits. original fish tacos are these crispy battered fish fillets that are light and airy.

any of your guys's towns have weird junk food? over here a local burger joint (a different one from what i mentioned above) sells a five pound cheeseburger. its so big you get it in a cake box. its genuinely pretty good too.

You said it better than I could. Comfort food = Hearts. Processed mass produced junk food = Cry

lugaru you're a man after my own heart, we've gotta meet up one of these days. Personally I'm partial to UBurger, it's fantastic. Those Korean wings though are definitely worth the ride out for.

I've been cutting as much junk food out of my system as possible, but "hamburgers from a greasy dive" are my one weakness. And the "Squeeze-In" is one of my favorite places to indulge. I can't get enough of their burgers, but some of my friends feel it's an acquired taste. The West Sacramento & Downtown Sacramento locations are quite good and don't suffer from the space issues the original location had (which has moved).

I am an unabashed Junk Food fan.

I will travel further for good junk though. I would rather pay extra for good pizza rather than go to a corporate joint. Same for Burgers.

I had awesome Chinese food for dinner all that MSG laced goodness Drool

glad to hear your endorsement. i'm excited to try it!

and yeah, cutting down on junk food is always a good idea. in any case, i hate binge eating foods i like for fear of getting tired of them. getting sick of burgers would be terrible if it were to happen. Cheesy

you know what been surprisingly decent? panda express. food's tasty and usually tastes newly cooked and actually looks appetizing. (which is more than i can say for some local places).

but man, what i wouldn't give for authentic chinese... maybe some dim-sum....yummm.

I had McDonald's for lunch every (week)day for well over a year. And hotcakes with a chocolate shake for morning tea for most of that time too.

I can still eat the stuff, for what it's worth, but pizza's my favourite food group. Hut especially, but a decent wood-fired pizza place opened nearby recently so that's a once a week thing for dinner now (plus a small Pizza Hut pizza for lunch at work on day a week, and a pub pizza every Friday).

Australia tried Taco bell for a few years about a decade ago (usually paired with KFC) - there are none anymore. Mexican food - even crappy Mexican-style food - is pretty hard to find here.

I kept going by uburger and finally walked in... they where a lot busier than the nearby mcdonals, costed like $1 more (only) and holy crap was the food a lot better. And in terms of indulgence... plenty of that. I had the double stunt burger with pepper jack, banana peppers, jalapenos.. good, meaty and spicy.

The worst thing I eat is at Sunset Bar and Grill. They have a burger there (the San Diego I think) with chilli, which I get pretty close to rare. A close to rare burger with hot, spicy chilli just works so well.

yeah, i love it when they serve a burger rare. also when they use good beef, and it tastes like a steak. and they use good bread... it costs more, but its so worth it.
