I know it's normally Christmas in July, but June 25th makes more sense to me.

I thought we would do it slightly differently than the normal Christmas exchange.  On that one you know who's getting for you, but I thought a true secret Santa might be cool.   Several folks have posted they are 'in' on the previous thread.  I've complied all of that information below.  Anyone else, just add your name in this thread and I will add you.  Please confirm and add in which country you are in and if you are willing to ship international.

Deadline for participation is May 15th.  On May 16th I will mix everyone up and PM you with who you are playing Santa for.  At that point it would probably be a good idea to post up a wish list and books that you like so your Santa will get some idea of your tastes.

Quick update, I'll match everyone up this weekend and PM each of you.

If you could all send me your addresses between now and then that would be great.  That way I can give it to your secret santa.  Those that I don't get I'll PM and ask.

Ahh! I forgot about this Sad

I forgot what I said but you can put me down for someone from the US. If there's not enough who wanna ship to Australia, you don't have to assign a Santa to me. I seriously have way too much comics anyway Tongue

I'll PM you my address in a sec.

That's not how it works, Dan. There are never enough books. I forgot too, so maybe it evens it up.

Okay guys, here's where we stand.

I have 14 people confirmed that have sent me their addresses.
Another 9 have replied in the thread that they want to take part, but have not sent me their addresses.  I'm going to PM them today and ask them if they still want to particpate and their addres.  I'll give them a day or two and then mix everyone up and send them out.  That part shouldn't take me long at all.  I just spent a little bit to get my spreadsheet organized.  Sorry for the delay, but I will get this kicked off soon.

Everyone should now have the name and address of who they are playing Santa for.  If for some reason I missed you, please let me know ASAP.

A few people have asked about what their person likes or is into.  If you want, feel free to post a little info about your self, what type of comics you read or things you want to try or get into.  Doesn't need to be a wish list, but it might help your santa with some ideas.

In the past I've also done searches for threads my person has posted in and gotten an idea of who they are that way as well.

I hope everyone has fun!

I think the idea of posting some of our "likes" is a good idea.

I am mostly into.....  stuff that Vince B would like! hah hah   That sounds generic, but I swear he's usually on my same wavelength almost 100% when it comes to comics and his recommendations.  I love horror comics, indie stuff, most anything Image, and even some Manga stuff.

But I do love a lot of mainstream stuff, too.  My favorite Marvel characters are Nick Fury, Namor, Captain America and Spider-Man.  On the DC side of things, I love Batman and the Flash.

I don't know...I just love comics, man.  :-)  I'll appreciate whatever I get, I'm sure.  Thanks for letting me take part, guys.  I love this forum, and hope to get to know everyone really well over time!

Everyone knows I'm a massive Moon Knight fan (I have every issue bar 2). I'm slowly amassing a collection of ROM and Micronauts.

Likes - Horror comics (especially anthologies), am reading a lot of independent stuff lately (Archaia, Fantagraphics). Mainstream, I'm loving Spider-Man, Black Panther, Batman, OMAC, Punisher, Daredevil and I, Vampire. I'm a massive Kirby fan too.

But, as Jeff said, I'll be happy with whatever I get. I love this sort of thing, especially the picking what the person I'm sending to will like.

I guess I'll throw out some likes on here too.

I am a big fan of 70's and 80's comics. But I also really dig what is going on currently in comics. From Marvel to DC to Image to Fantagraphics. I just love comics. The Thing and Black Bolt are two of my favorite characters, and I read manga. Horror comics also hold a big place in my heart. I would honestly appreciate anything. I really just can't wait to mail out a box of awesome to someone!

The fact that I've been collecting and reading comics on and off for the past 30+ years means that I have plenty of gaps in the collection. These gaps have been created thanks to monetary constraints (selling off parts of the collection, not being able buy any books) and sometimes for other reasons (other expenses, other hobbies). That being said, I'm up for about anything.

I grew up reading Marvel and lost that collection long ago, so anything related to Bronze Age Marvel would be a big hit. I know I've missed plenty of underrated, independent/small press books that have come out over the last 10 years, so there's that. Some of my likes can be found on my 999 Reading Challenge list.

Looking forward to the exchange. Hopefully, I'll be able to make someone happy with what I send out.

I made up some random gift selections that will be sent out to people that do not express a preference & are "open to whatever Bob wants to send them"...........

I made 5 last night and can probably make more.   There is old, new, Marvel, DC, Indie, in totally random fashion.   Since I have them wrapped up & ready to mail, I have zero idea what is in which package.

Gack!  I somehow missed this thread!  If there's anyone needing a match, I'd love to participate in this if I can be added at this late date.  If not, it's my own fault for not checking the forum enough.  Loved the December exchange!  I'll PM my address just in case...
Thanks,

Sounds like I'm in!  Thanks for pulling this together Brian!

I'm mostly a Marvel guy, don't have much at all from the New 52.  Love Vertigo though.  Don't have ANY horror (the closest would be Hellboy or BPRD) but would be interested in that.  I do like independant stuff but am mostly limited to Terry Moore type stuff.  I'm open to just about anything new just to be exposed to it!  Tongue

Whoever has me, send me whatever you like. It can be stuff you like or stuff you want to get rid of. I'm easy Wink

If you're sending from overseas, no need to send too much. I know postage is a killer.
