Total amount raised: $97,626

That's pretty impressive. Now for the worst part; the wait!  Angry

For those who haven't checked their e-mail, they sent out the ComiXology digital codes.  I already put mine in the library and after reading (and oogling) at the first few pages, I may be up all night reading.

I can sort of get why, it's probably cheaper/quicker/clears out more room to ship out the US stuff first. It still sucks for me and it should really be first come first shipped if at all possible.

It isn't about the first thing, that is a three month old development. This is misjudging International shipping costs and not having a back up plan for getting giant books to people.

I'm not sure which specific email you're talking about so I just looked at the most recent one.

I did hear that USPS recently raised their rates pretty significantly though, it's hard to estimate in those circumstances.

(I SWEAR I'm not just trying to make excuses, just playing a bit of devil's advocate)

It sounds like international shipping rates went up and that's hurting things? If they're asking for international supporters to ante up more, that's REALLY bad form. Effectively the creators are a small business, and like any small business they assume certain risks...one was variance in logistics costs. The fact that rates went higher is not the customers' fault, nor should they have to deal with the additional costs.

I have been looking into getting a copy and got in contact with Mark Andrew Smith who pointed me to a website that sells the book too. I had checked it out but the site really didn't wanna ship internationally so I forgot about it. Having seen this thread pop up I tried the site again and it's gone, this site was supposed to be legit, they were gonna over print and sell outside kickstarter but I guess that ain't happening for now.

Seems to be real problems with this project.

I haven't seen anything about kicking in extra (although I don't pay rapt attention to the updates) just that they're shipping out all the US books before shipping out any international ones.

If they're asking to kick in more I'm just going to ask for a refund.

well if you were wondering why Stokoe has been pretty silent about his involvement with this project.....

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

Yeah I got that message. Pretty frustrating, although I don't think he was saying we'd have to stump up the extra shipping. To think a while back I was concerned it might get delivered to my old address mid-move. That was October!

Shipping costs via USPS, Fed Ex and UPS all went up last month, but as you say its not the problem of folks who paid a while ago.

Don't let it, I've backed a lot of stuff and had only a few hiccups along the way. I think in this case they didn't realize how big it would get, and how much work it would take to ship out so many books.
