Exactly! I think this lends more credibility to Kickstarter projects in general. It affirms the bond between creator and backer and builds excitement.
It is an ever-evolving process that every artist should be studying.
The evolution on kickstarter is going to be very interesting to watch as it continues to develop. I have a feeling that once people experience such positive campaigns where their dollars morph or evolve into something better than they expected it is going to shine a light on other projects that may not be offering that flexibility.

I would be really interested to know how much the creators take away from a project like this. Just for curiosity sake.
Kickstarter takes 5%, Amazon takes 5%. Then there's printing and shipping. I wouldn't be surprised if Mark Andrew Smith shares the details after the fact.

I don't know if they'll hit $80k, but they almost certainly will hit $75k and they've added an unlock at that level. I hope it's a bound-in bookmark ribbon. I love those things.

If they hit 75,000 all at the $30+ levels get a digital copy via comixology. Awesome.

I know I'm still very much a tactile reader when the Comixology news strikes me as completely underwhelming. Who cares? I'm buying this for the beauty of the physical work. I would much much much prefer the slipcase.

Its showing other Kisckstarter creators how to play the game. Travis

I'm the opposite. I'm glad I have the option of not having to get a physical copy that ill never touch while being able to give a decent amount.

If you go to Comicbook Resources website, the banner ad is for Sullivan's Sluggers kickstarter site. I am not saying that is wrong in anyway, but it leaves me with a weird feeling. The Tiki

I would agree it was weird if the project weren't so far above the original goal. At this point they are probably pretty profitable and if you think of advertising as a minor expense that will generate more money than it costs it seems like that is a justifiable project expense. If they hadn't met the goal or were just above it and were using project funds to try to raise money, that would definitely be weird.
