Wood cracked me up with the subtle "aw snap...aw snap" Regular Show reference. Immediately afterward, the song was stuck in my head.

Great episode guys! I don't usually re-listen, but this one got me twice. What was the intro music? Really enjoyed Skottie as the guest this week. Made me miss The Devil and Me podcast. I got a commission from him at C2E2 this year. It was the most expensive purchase of the show for me, but absolutely worth the price tag. I was hoping for something around the finish level of his daily sketches that he sells through his online store, but instead I got a fully painted piece. He really did a nice job, and I'll definitely try to get more work from him at future shows. I can't help but compare comic book artist commission prices vs. the price of a tattoo artist. I'm more used to the cost of buying and selling tattoos, so even a big-name guy like Skottie doesn't seem that high. His convention prices are actually quite similar to tattoo prices at a con (not just me, but most of the artists that I roll with). I posted this in the C2E2 thread, but I'll show it off again... Dinosaurs vs. Aliens was one of 5 FCBD books I got from DCBS. Wow, this thing was beautiful. I didn't notice the solicit for the HC either, so I'll have to pick this one up! The first Skull Kickers trade has been sitting on my shelf for months. Read it last night and really enjoyed it. Thanks for bringing it up, Vince! Gonna bring it to work and pay it forward to the homies this afternoon. Looking forward to Chris coming back. Have you only had a guest when a regular host is absent, or have the four of you had a guest make a fifth wheel? I've listened to most episodes, just can't recall...

Dude, I was comparing ink with some of the other neighborhood dads at our Memorial Day BBQ and your stuff got mad props! One guy one upped me big time. I show off my ink with my wife and kids' names. He then pulls up his shirt and he's got actual fully rendered photographic images of his children on his chest! Yikes. As to your guest question, we've definitely had guests on as a quintet. We've had Lemire on for sure with a foursome, I know we had Sal once. I think the first time Ron was on it was a quintet. I know there are others, too. But you're right that generally we've had them on as a fill-in.

Ha! You're too much of a baller to like getting one upped. You just need more time under the needle, youngbuck! Hit Vegas a day early, or stay a day late, and I'll fly out and light you up for Morrisoncon... I need an excuse to make the trip...

Much love to Wood for mentioning Mind MGMT. One of the best books I've read so far this year.

Do eeeet! I actually got my first ink done a few weeks ago, a half-sleeve on my right arm, and I have to admit that it's addictive as fuck.

Okay, so I don't usually comment in these episode threads (because they're always like 8 pages deep by the time I get around to listening)
But this? THIS? THIS EPISODE RIGHT HERE?
Just straight up greatness. Loved hearing Skottie talk about his art, career, and what inspires him. I get such a charge out of hearing artists talk about that kind of stuff, and few do it so eloquently. It actually made me put away the other stuff I was doing and start drawing the first page of a graphic novel project I've been putting off. While I was listening!
Dope stuff.
Oh and I'm gonna finally read Blacksad.

I too got a chance to show off my latest Stringer work of art and the General Ursus tattoo was a huge hit. Bean

Great episode!
Basil Wolverton is an interesting artist to be sure. I always though Sam Kieth and Richard Corben borrowed some of his stippling techniques for textures.
Skottie welcome back, glad to see success hasn't changed you! Thanks for making comics I enjoy reading with my kids.
