http://blog.super7store.com/gorilla-biscuits-x-revelation-records-25th-anSorry for posting this one super late but I honestly forgot that we even have a toy forum here. The figure drops in less than an hour on the Super7 web store. If you're a Gorilla Biscuits fan you've probably heard about the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary shows. Super7 made a new version of their GB toy for the shows and put some aside to sell online. I'm going to try to grab one for myself. Anyone else?

no x on his hand? BOOOOOOOOOO. Daves didn't know you were down, nice to see there's another hardcore kid among us. Well I just got an e-mail from Super7 saying I missed the allocation and am being refunded so I won't be getting this figure after all.

I don't have any of them but I am so glad to see some of my punk/hardcore heroes getting figures made. I would love to have all of them, but if I had to choose I'd go with the Milo (Descendents) bobblehead for sure.
Now, if I find out about an Operation Ivy vinyl of their logo....that would be tops.

yeah, we actually have a joke here that i'm the sole member of "old edge dude crew." that's too bad you missed out on the figure, unfortunately there's no real hope of it not going for a shit ton of money in the secondary market.

Haha well I'm only 29 but am still straightedge, maybe it's time to extend the membership of that club. Loving you old timers, I probably have a lot more in common with you than kids still actively going to shows. I'm not too bummed about missing out on the GB figure, I avoided paying $70 for a toy, that's OK with me.

haha, well, don't get ahead of yourself, i'm only 31. but i've been edge for like 15 years.
however i can't say it wasn't a little sobering when i was telling a kid about the first show i ever went to (All Out War & Disembodied at a skatepark in early 98), and after i told him about it he just kind of laughed and said "i was 4."

Slurmo needs to see this if he hasn't. His podcast uses "New Direction" as it's intro.

chalk up one more hardcore kid" to the list. although I will be 36 in 11 days so i don't know about the kid thing.. i will say i would have liked the figure. the operation ivy guy would be amazing. and so would the old cornerstone kid.
...but admittedly I have not been edge in years and years. but i still support anyone who holds true to it.

Yeah, surprised Bobgar hasn't popped in here yet. the old cornerstone kid.
Is it safe to say you're originally from CT then? I don't know too many people with fond Cornerstone memories who aren't.

AMAZING. I'm from Boston, not CT, but have A LOT of older friends who were originally from CT before migrating up here. If you're 31 I'm sure we have a lot of mutual friends, especially if you were going to Tenfold shows. Those Hatebreed riot shows were before my time but I can't tell you how many times I've heard the stories, I might as well have been there. Bringing it back even further by throwing the Jasta 14 demo on right now.

jasta 14! every so often i'll take an afternoon and dig out all my old 7"'s. i've gotten rid of some of them over the years, but i still have all my old ct bands(fastbreak, hatebreed, follow through, tenfold). i'm sure we know/knew a bunch of the same people, right around 98 a whole crop of ct dudes went up to boston (the fastbreak guys, josh holden). i actually lived up out in brighton for a few years after college (03-04).
yeah, hatebreed shows were something, there is video footage on youtube of the second show i ever went to, which was at that same skatepark i mentioned previously. there wasn't a full blown riot, but there were more fights than i could count.

I actually noticed this thread by accident...any talk about punk or hardcore music for me always warrants a read, even if I rarely respond.
I'm 45, straight edge and saw GB at their very first show at CBGB's in 1986. I was well known in the scene at the time for being a GB "hater" (the word the kids are using these days). Since I was into supporting the scene back then, I actually bought everybody's records, including the GB seven inch and "Start Today" (I always had access to getting the colored vinyl versions, don't remember which one it was but I sold my "Start Today" years later for a boatload of money). I just never got the GB phenomenon and 25 years later....still don't.
Not to be a downer on that, but I'm always honest about these things. I guess I just wanted to let you know you are not alone on this board with a love of punk and hardcore music and being straight edge.
I used to do a very popular hardcore music fanzine called Hardware which ran from 1993 to 1996.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. I could see a hundred posts by "Dave K." and not realize it's Dave Koening. You and Brett Beach are fucking legends. You know how many times I've lived vicariously through your stories. This freakin' dude right here used to hang out at SOME RECORDS people!!!!! I don't even know what to say, the EOC community continues to blow my mind. In honor of the awesomeness that is happening in this thread, I give you all a picture of my Floorpunch Notre Dame jersey:

I would have loved to see the riots on the green. Definitely no such thing happening when I lived in New Haven.

ah, yeah, i left CT in 99, was still around a bit after that, but not nearly as much. I would have loved to see the riots on the green. Definitely no such thing happening when I lived in New Haven.
