it's weird. never heard anything like it.  skype update make things screwy?

Also for those that have netflix, Battle Royal is streaming now.

http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Battle_Royale/70004548?trkid=2361637

Eery serendipity.

I finished watching this yesterday.  Never read the manga, nor should it matter, but the movie was actually pretty decent.

Also, I approve with all the KILLER and RASL talk, both are most excellent.

As Chris and Vince said, no hyperbole, hindsight will prove RASL to be one of the best books of the past decade.  Seriously.  It doesn't have any similarities to Jeff Smith's, BONE, but it doesn't matter.  It is gorgeous Smith inking with a fantastic history of Tesla and action/adventure/sci-fi thrown into the mix.  I'm over-simplifying, but trust them, it is marvelous!

I watched it on disc the day before it went live streaming, due to Dan leafinsectman's constant ravings. I wanna read the book now.

I've watched that film so many times. Last time was at the IFC Centre in New York, where they've been showing it for a few weeks now. Great stuff  Yes

The book is far from as good as the film, though, but I still thought it was a fairly enjoyable fare.

Hey Wood I know I hit you up on the twitter but really that Battle Royale film is icy. There is a novel also, that spawned the film and then later the manga. Don't check out any sequels, not a good look.

I'm not sure when Battle Royale the novel was released, but I sense the Hunger Games could have used this as a contemporary inspiration for the series.

Thanks for the talk gentlemen.  Very excited about the new Artist Edition but will not see it until SDCC. Y'all should do a big spotlight on them (maybe after the Jack Davis one finally gets solicited).   Thumbs Up  I wonder what happened to the Mr. Regina as well.

You wish.

Besides Karaoke I can't think of a damn thing.

Well, except manga. Because they aren't comics so I guess they did invent those.

Here's a few things:

The novel.

Quite possibly pottery.

Institutionalized religious pluralism.

Isolationism as a foreign policy doctrine.

Chivalry or the idea of a secular code of conduct that spans public, private, and martial spheres.

Judo, Jujutsu, Karate, and Ninjutsu.

Determinants.

The discovery of adrenaline.

Vitamins in isolated form.

Methamphetamine.

Lean manufacturing.

Arcade games and later video games - including the first fighting games racing games, shooting games, and platformers.

Commercial and publicly broadcasted digital recording (via the NHK and Denon).

Human-like robots.

... Japan also has lawns that are older than the US.

Cry The static made it hard to listen at times, so we're lucky that the show itself was top notch.  Thumbs Up

keep up the good work guys and kill them staticky skype ghosts.

I wanted know what the episode controversy/thread hijack topic was going to be but I somehow missed Chris's comment. I can figure it out from context but I'd rather still laugh at "2-PACK" & "Prison Music".

Roll On Floor Laughing between 2-PacK & Vince's Pride comment Roll On Floor Laughing...you guys made coming back to work today not only bearable but fun.  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

We need more DAP/WOOD tag teaming books!  Yes believe it.

I don't wanna hear about how many people where in Chicago's pride parade. Every year Pride basically shuts my city down. It's madness. But madness for a good cause.

Thanks for the show guys, I'm trying to get some work done before a 3 day weekend for the ladies bday that involves a trip to Tomales Bay, Oysters, and an EL-P show here in the city. Nothing fuels me more then some 110C in my earbuds.

Great, so they came up with Crystal Meth and made our future mechanical overlords.

Way to fucking go.
