I think I'm not the only the one that wants Marvel to gain total control of the Spider-man characters back and do a reboot.  I want Spider-man brought into this new Marvel U that they are forming.  We could consider all of the FOX and Sony movies as part of different multiverse? Daredevil needs a second shot also.  The director's cut was pretty good.

...except if we think of the Sony/Fox stuff as separate universes, does that mean we have to waste another movie to tell the origin again? Roll Eyes

They could always do the Incredible Hulk opening credits thing.  I think that worked pretty good.

So, does the Punisher movie seem to be heading in the "Marvel's first real movie fumble" direction?
I think it's no longer "too close to call."  This thing looks bad.  I'm giving evaD credit for calling this one waaaaay in advance.

Not sure what to make of all these Cap casting rumors.  The Avengers movie really hangs on how they cast Cap in his movie and where they go with it.  I think they might need to go high-profile (a la Downey Jr./Iron Man and Ed Norton/Bruce Banner) instead of with an unknown.

Some news from Slashfilm.com, the website is reporting that American Gladiator Titan, aka Mike O'Hearn, will be auditioning for the role of Captain America.  Also, the site reports that Jason Statham would be interested in playing Daredevil in a reboot of the film and apparently has the approval of Frank Miller.

Frank Miller, Schmank Schmiller. I think we all want to know: how many seesaw fights are there going to be?!?!?   Wink
has anyone said if the Cap movie will basically be the first issue of Ultimates #1 expanded into a film? I'd be into that. Then they could start Avengers with Stark/SHIELD finding Cap. Just curious.

From what I heard, and I think it was someone's post on this forum, the film is supposed to be set entirely in WW2.

Here's an interview with Mike O'Hearn if you've never seen him before:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/_k8T1-f6P3A&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/_k8T1-f6P3A&rel=1</a>

I don't know if I quite get a Cap vibe from him.

I think I read the same post you did and assumed that they'd follow the WWII version presented in Ultimates. I'm just crossing my fingers and chanting my mantra for the Thor movie: Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor, Please be Ultimate Thor...

Maybe it's just me, but most of the Marvel movies seem to have an Ultimate feel to them.  Spoiler for those who haven't seen Iron Man.

When you cast Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, I think that says it all.

Ben Kingsley would be my first choice for The Vulture in a Spider-Man movie (and he's worked with Uwe Boll, so you know he's not too picky about roles), but if that didn't work, how about Larry David?

I really think we're being too quick to condem this one guys.  I mean what we've seen a total of about 4 minutes of clips with maybe 10 lines of Dialouge and we're all ready to cast it into the pit.  I'm not saying it will be great or not I'm just saying you can't (most of the time) judge a movie by its trailers alone, at least not almost half a year before it comes out.

Some times you can tell. I'll give you a generic example: You're watching previews for a movie claiming to be a laugh out loud or laugh a minute comedy and you aren't laughing - you will probably hate the movie. A preview will either get you excited about a movie's pending release or it won't. For me, it's rare that I see a preview, think the movie is going to bomb but upon viewing it change my mind. If they can't convince you with the highlights, that's not a good sign.

I don't know Larry David that well, but I like your choice of Ben Kingsley!

After seeing the first trailer, I was not impressed.  But the one they showed at San Diego I thought looked pretty good. It has me excited about seeing this one again.

Accesshollywood.com has posted a a deleted clip from Iron Man.  The scene is supposed to tie things up when Iron Man flies to the Mid East.  The sound quality is not great, but it's a pretty funny scene.
