12 HOURS AWAY FROM THE EOC ALPHA DRAFT!!!
Reading through the previous years' threads it seems there's been a problem with owner activity in the past. I understand real-life stuff can come up but let's all try to be there for the live draft tonight.
A league filled with all active owners is such a fulfilling experience. But all it takes is one ghost-owner to bring the whole thing down.
I'm excited and will see you there sir!

Great draft last night gentlemen! I'm not unhappy with my team, but if anyone wondered, yes: picking RG3 in the fifth round was purely accidental. I had him on my "if he's there in the late rounds" list, but when I got disconnected, he somehow became my pick. Whoever owns Maclin or Bowe: You're welcome! The Brandon Lloyd pick also occurred this way, but I'm less upset about that. He has proved solid for me in the past, though I'm not sure how he's going to fare in NE. I debated whether to say anything, but in the end I had to get this off my chest. Please don't think me too much a whiner - It's still gonna be an AWESOME season!

I have been in dozens of yahoo online drafts and have never had a problem. But last night I just could not connect/ stay connected to save my life. Fortunately my press draft rankings work helped a lot for the early rounds. And when I did manage to log in briefly I was able to adjust my queue. All in all I cannot complain. I mostly got the team I wanted (except that I would not have actively taken 4 WRs in the first 5 rounds.....). And yes, I got Maclin.....sooooo.....thank you....? Good luck all. Can't wait for Opening Day

Good times gents. Both drafts went reasonably well. Yahoo! seemed to have some connectivity issues on Monday night, but last night's was much smoother.

Oh how Delone Carter's perceived value has dropped from this time last year. He's now available on waivers in EOC Alpha.

I put my team into the Rank my Team function from football guys, got a 99% chance of making the playoffs from Dodds, but only a 85% chance from that Wood guy ... love that David Dodds guy! The Beta is mine!

IR slot. This is redraft right? I think on Yahoo a player can only be put in the IR slot if he's actually on IR. So this is essentially for show? Looks like I spoke too soon. With the new NFL IR rule where one player can be taken off of IR during the season, IR slots for redraft leagues are meaningful now.

Comparing my money league team to my EOC yahoo team is really hurting right now. I feel like I made some horrible moves in our EOC league and my bench is littered with guys who are utterly useless. I think Woods team is stacked and a few other guys look really strong as well. Oh well, I'll b riding that waiver wire wave all season to keep this thing afloat. I can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!!

I ran my team through the Football Guys team rater and they hated my receivers, which brought my overall projections down a bit. Although Wood's on my side re: Decker. "Some of our staffers have Eric Decker as high as #12. Jason Wood's take: "Decker was a top-tier fantasy starter last year when Kyle Orton was under center, but fell off the map with Tim Tebow. Peyton Manning is the tonic for what ails Decker, and you can be sure that Decker's combination of size and disciplined route running will make him one of Manning's favorites." I see Manning doing for Decker something similar to what Brady did for Welker. I put my team into the Rank my Team function from football guys, got a 99% chance of making the playoffs from Dodds, but only a 85% chance from that Wood guy ... love that David Dodds guy! It's the opposite for me. Wood actually likes my team the best among his compatriots. I don't know what it is, but despite winning my league last year and coming in 2nd the year before that (plus 20+ years of mostly success before that), my teams are never rated very highly. I'll agree to disagree with assessments like "Stafford is a below average QB" and just see what happens.

I don't have my EOC league memorized but I am going to run it tonight and I bet I get a horrible rating. I'm really strong at running back with Forte, Murray, and Hillis in the flex but my wide outs are Demayrius Thomas, Reggie Wayne, and Moore I believe. So I'm not really digging that. I think Decker will have a better year than Thomas but until a few weeks in we won't really know. I can see the Colts getting behind a lot and Wayne getting some garabge time long receptions but rookie QB's despite their skill make me nervous.

I have Murray also (along w/ Fred Jackson and others), and I'm hoping he doesn't have the big letdown a lot of people are predicting. I wanted Thomas also, but missed out on him. I rated Decker more highly because of the kind of receivers who flourish with Manning (Decker is more like Marvin Harrison, who clicked with Manning earlier than Wayne did.) If they make any progress at all in Indy offensively, Wayne could have a bounce back year and be a decent WR3.
