My mother in-law went to a garage sale and picked me up some comics.  She got me a Spider-Man annual drawn by Frank Miller and a few Batman books, one of them drawn by Garcia-Lopez!   Thumbs Up

Nice!  Giving mothers-in-law a good name!

Mycomicshop.com has had Marvel's Essential Godzilla for dirt cheap for a while now, but thanks to their super saver email password, I ended up getting an additional percentage off (5 or 10... I can't remember), so it ended up only being $4.48.  Pretty hard to beat that, and I've been meaning to get it for a while, anyway.

The discount last week also extended to humor books, so I picked up two issues of Archie's Weird Mysteries, because I have a fondness for oddball Archie books (and they didn't have the issues of Jughead's Time Police that I wanted.   Cheesy    )

Pretty decent day at Half Price Books

22 assorted issues of Powers; Justice League: The New Frontier Special #1; Underdog #5 (1994); Mickey Mouse Adventures #5 (1990)
X-Men vs. Agents of Atlas #2; Adventure Comics #2; Popeye #5 (1994); Richie Rich #20 (1994)
Assault on New Olympus #1; The Last Days of Animal Man #1, 3, 4, 5, 6
and UFO's No Place To Run album
all for just over $20.00.

I was planning on picking up both X-Men/Atlas issues this week at the LCS, so that was a good find.  It probably shouldn't be too hard to scare up the #2 of Animal Man.

I picked up 25 asst. issues of MAD magazine from 1965 - early '70's, for 2 bucks.
Will post my opinions about nostalgia for the old days this weekend.

Two standouts from the stack of twenty-five cent books:

Marvel Age #1: Simonson does Crystar! Marvel history! Unpublished art! Who needs more? I plan to bind the entire run once I track down the six or so I need.

World War Hulk: Gamma Files: I love finding OHOTMU books on the cheap. Essential and worthwhile reads, but they can get kinda spendy, especially on top of all the regular stuff we buy every week. This will be bound with the Planet Hulk run and the Gladiator Guidebook. That's some good readin', right there.  Yes

Last sale I went to, I picked up Incredible Hulk #181 and Rising Stars #0-24 for $70.

I will be at the next one tomorrow at 7am.  And hoping to do some damage to my list of back issues.
