Picked up the complete Simon Dark run from my LCS for free.  His wife wants him to make some room at home, so he's got a couple shortboxes he fills with stuff for the regulars to go through.

Interesting little series, that Simon Dark.  Unanswered questions abound.

Just picked up the first 2 hardcovers of The Dark Tower, and Vol. 1 and 2 of Red Prophet adaptation for $7 bucks a piece at Barnes & Noble. Got them today, looking forward to reading them.

I ordered Starman Omnibus 3 for $36 and Marvel Spotlight #1 (featuring Syd Shores' AWESOME artwork on Red Wolf) for $4 from MyComicShop.com, but since I had $41 in trade credit with them, it only ended up costing me a little over $3 in real money.  Woot!   Rock Horns

This is more than a comic collection, it's a fucking time capsule. Can't believe it's come into my possession.

That's exactly how I feel when I run across an old complete run. Yours, of course, is an ultimate region-centric version of this idea. I loved my slight exposure to 2000 A.D. in the eighties, but your first hand experience is so localized to the point of absurdity.
I can't imagine an equivalent story taking place in the U.S.

I just got back from Half Price Books, and currently in my possession are Hellboy Library Editions vols 1 & 2.  Obtained for the low low price of $45!!

I'm soooo excited to finally crack into Hellboy!

Edit:  Good Lord are they huge!!  I just put them on my bookshelf.  They dwarf my Marvel Omnibuses.  The OCD in me is a little bugged, but the comic fan in me is drooling.

I bought Chew #1 and 2 today, the first prints for under £5 and they where in perfect condition. It's hard to find these two on ebay without some people charging ridiculous prices because there hard to find, but today I got lucky.  Boogie

Picked up The Mighty 1 to 8 for 12 bucks on ebay.  I love it so far.  Did they even advertise this book at all?

Bought this for £1 from a second hand shop today. Artist uncredited, but I think it's a fantastic cover.

  Rock Horns

Just left Half Priced Books and they had a TON of excellent TPBs/OGNs clearanced out. Picked up a total of 16 trades for under $40!  Most will find new homes in this year's holiday giveaway, but I was surprised at what they deemed "clearance-worthy."

The semi-regular toy, comics, and collectibles show at the K of C hall in South Attleboro, MA, had pure comics gold this morning!  The guy from, I think Bedrock Comics, brought his always awesome cheap Bronze Age boxes again, and for $2 apiece I got:

Fantastic Four 168-170 (Ben loses his powers, so the FF hire Luke Cage to take his place)
FF Annual 11 (FF vs. the Invaders, art by John Buscema!)
Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #9 (Cage goes to Latveria to collect a debt from Dr. Doom)

Could've spent a ton more there, too.  Red Wolf issues, the other issues of The Cat I need, lots of early Howard the Duck, Howard Chaykin's Atlas book The Scorpion, Aparo Aquaman... had to force myself to stay in budget though.

Lots of good 50 cent books around at other tables, too.  I picked up

Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil 1-4 (the whole series for less than the price of one issue!  Rock Horns  )
Elephantmen 1-3
Legion Lost 10 (last issue I needed!  Rock Horns   Rock Horns  )
Legion of Super-Heroes (Baxter run) #s 42, 60-63
Legionnaires 79 (Legion of the Damned part 2)

Could've picked up the death of Superboy issues from the LSH Baxter run for 50 cents apiece, too!  But I already have them, so I threw them back for someone else to discover.  My good geek deed for the day.

I picked up the following books for 25 cents each:
Black Lightning Year One 1-4
Powerline 1 and 2 (I was obsessed with this book as a kid)
Marvel 1985 2-6 (I read issue 1 on Marvel Digital and the rest on paper. I love this miniseries.)
