I read The Forgetless (Nick Spencer) TPB yesterday.
The Forgetless is the 2nd book by Spencer that I've read. I will say that I was more impressed with it than I was with Existence 2.0 / 3.0. Existence was sort of bland to me.
Forgetless was pretty interesting. I liked the very discombobulated style of the narrative and the art styles were pretty nice for each section. Some of it was a little predictable, but that doesn't hurt it too much. If you are interested in reading it (in TPB form) I would suggest skipping the introduction. I don't have the book in front of me right now, so I don't remember the guy's name who wrote it, but the introduction is IMO way too revealing of all of the characters you are going to run into. My only other criticism of the book would be what I called "Juno-talk." There was more than one occasion in the book where it seemed like there was hip name dropping just for the sake of hip name dropping. Muscling through the overt attempt to be "hip" and the twitter captions leaves you with a pretty decent read though.
I would rate it as 3.5/5 on story and 4/5 on art. I would have gone 4/5 on story, but I was put off by the story told through twitter and name dropping Nico.
Anyone else keeping up with Nick Spencer's stuff? I'm trying to decide if he is really worth all of the hype being directed his way. I have yet to read Morning Glories, Infinite Vacation, and THUNDER Agents. I will be getting those in trade. Not too interested in the Iron Man 2.0 he is writing.

I am, and I really like his work more with every new thing he does. Existence 2.0/3.0 was ok, but I really liked the main story in Forgetless. I am a big fan of Morning Glories, The Jimmy Olson Backup and Thunder Agents so far, and look forward to Iron Man 2.0. Can't wait to read Infinite Vacation tomorrow. I was really ticked when it turned out he was not doing Supergirl.

This volume closes out the 70s for Savage Sword. Contains some great work from the Buscemas, Gil Kane, Tony De Zuniga, Rudy Nebres, and Klaus Janson.

Read Orc Stain Vol. 1 today and I'm about 200 pages into the Usagi Yojimbo oversized collection. This Usagi stuff is amazing, I love it.

Richard Stark's Parker Novels. (Yeah all of them). After reading Cooke's adaption of Parker the Hunter and the Outfit, I checked out the novels themselves and discovered that the prose novels are just as good.

Batman Dark Victory tpb written by Jeph Loeb (when he was good) & gorgeous artwork by Tim Sale. The story builds off the events of Long Halloween. I am not going to spoil the book for you but Batman's gallery of vallains play their part & Batman's legacy continues with this trade. (5 stars out of 5 stars--perfection a quality Batman story that I did enjoy alot).
Batman Haunted Knight tpb written by Jeph Loeb & gorgeous artwork by Tim Sale. (4.5 stars out of 5 stars three good stories that build up the Batlegacy in small ways, Sale's art is amazing!)
Read them both!!!

The Thing: Project Pegasus - I fondly remember this arc from Marvel Two-In-One back in the late 70s. It was nice to revisit this story with great work form Byrne & Sinnott and Perez & Day. You get some Cap, Man-Thing, Deathlok, the revamped Black Goliath as Giant Man, Thundra and the Grapplers (Whatever happened to Letha? ), and Klaw. Loved Perez's reality warping depiction of the Nth Man too. Great read from the Bronze Age of Mighty Marvel.

if you haven't already, you should check out Marvel Zombies volume three. It's all about Machine Man, and written by Fred Van Lente.
