DMZ Vol. 1 I always thought I'd like this series, boy was i wrong. I loved it. Can't wait to get into the next trades.

You're in for one hell of a ride.  It's a great book.  Brian Wood and his roster of amazing artist (From Burchielli, Fox, Moon and more) have created an amazingly realized world that I find myself completely submersed in each time a trade comes out.  Like Wood mentions when he talks about Invincible, whenever I pick up a new trade everything comes right back and I remember everything.  In one way or another almost every character in the book is important and has a role to play in things to come.  Enjoy!

I've just finished a reread the Morrison run on "New X-Men" (Now X-Men Legacy), creatively i think what he is trying to do is impressive but I'm not sure how good this run was. I think it's an important as it sets up the context of the x-books going forwards. Maybe the enjoyment of rereading this changes when you know what is going to happen with Xorn and I really don't like the last arc which is set 150 years in the future.

The first half of this run i think is very good and is very important in setting the scene for the future x-books but rereading the 2nd half of the run just doesn't work for me.
I've *heard* that editorial intervened in the series and Morrison responded by machine-gunning X-cliches: 1) Here's Magneto!! 2) Jean is teh dead!! 3) Travel to a crappy future!!

Last 3 things I read
Orc Stain Vol. 1 Not sure if you guys would've heard of this Wink Seriously though, great comics. Anyone able to point me to some of Stokoe's earlier work. As far as I know, this guy came out of no where.

He did Wonton Soup for Oni Press.

Have finally read and just about caught up with 28 day later, really enjoyed this. Is in a tough market because of Walking Dead but thought they did a really good job with this, good characters, easy to follow and Declan Shalvey is a beast on the first 10 issues of the run, DC could do worse than getting him on one of reboot books.

Highly recommend checking 28 days later out

Just read Planet of the Apes #2 ... Issue #1 wasn't a fluke: it's still awesome.

If you're at all Ape inclined, you owe it to yourself to check this series out. Please don't sleep on this one.

I have to point out that this month at DCBS you can order issue #5 for $0.25 (!!!) and you can get the first volume TP for 45% off ($5.49)

Read Deathnote Black Edition Books 1 and 2 (collecting the first 4 volumes) I just love this series.

Locke and Key issues 1-6 of Keys to the Kingdom  This was probably the creepiest/most suspensful/emotional arcs in the entire series.   The entire creative team was firing on all cylinders with this one imo.  Truly a great book that hopefully gets all the credit it deserves for not only being a great comic book but being an outstanding alternative to the normal status quo and for just telling a great effing story.

Finishing up BPRD Book 1: Plague of Frogs.  After I finish that its onto the hulking beast that is Simonson's Thor Omnibus  Rock Horns

The first 12 issues of Punisher Max. Holy shit, this book goes hard! Everyone in the book is an asshole, including the Punisher, but it's amazing to watch them be so. Actually, in a fucked up way, I was rooting for the Kingpin in all of this.

I've always found Dillon's work to be pleasing, his Punisher stuff is really striking a chord with me. I've never really read the Punisher before, but Aaron has me.

Criminal Last of the Innocent #1 is  4 out of 5. It was better than Flashpoint #1 & #2, but it wasn't awesome as other volumes were.  Booster Gold #44 & Secret 7 #1 were great tieins to the series even if I didnt understand Secret 7 I am very curious into Flashpoint as a concept.

FCBD Mouseguard/Dark Crystal 2011 it is 5/5 a simple yet entertaining tale of one of the mice with quality art, hands down.  If you are curious about MouseGuard & dont want to wait for 12 to 14 months for the next HC collection give this a try for a small taste.  Yes quality takes time but it IS worth it on this series.  If you like it get Mouseguard Fall 1152, Winter 1152 & Legends of the Guard that are available while the Black Axe miniseries is going on now.

I thought it was more awesome than the last volume but that might be partly because of the Spider-Man/Archie/Millie the Model stuff thrown in. I'm all in trying to figure out the Brub's different levels on this story.

Just finished Aquaman Time and Tide, 1-75, plus all the annuals. An enjoyable ride. The Peter David run was great, although it didn't end well. The Larsen stuff was not good at all in my opinion, art or story. I really enjoyed the Jurgens issues that ended the run, I wish he'd had more time ono the title. I love the respect that Jurgens had everyone give Arthur. Made him very regal.

It was different not bad different just different from what I was expecting.  Again of the 5 comics I read for THAT week (I read my comics monthly DCBS) Criminal was at the top of the list but not 5 out 5 worthy rather 4 out of 5 solid good.

Vol. 3 of Gotham Central Unresolved Targets
Really good. Always heard it was, good to see it was. What do you do if you're a cop in Gotham City, and you have to deal with crime in that city, like the Joker or Mad Hatter? Fantastic stuff.

read another 3-4 issues from my Simonson Thor Omnibus, about 2/3 of the way thru now... god that recoloring is so beautiful, and the matte pages. Honestly if they told me that future Omnibi were going thru that same production process I'd buy every bronze and silver age one they released!

Also been randomly re-reading sections of Bill Simmons Big Book of Basketball... and I dont even really like Basketball. I just like the way the guy writes and develops an argument. His Theory for the Basketball Hall Of Fame may be one of the best ideas of the 21st century so far.  Cheesy
