I just finished "The Complete Essex County (awesome,)" "Number of the Beast (It was alright-the Chris Sprouse art saved this series)," and the first volume of "Hellblazer (I've heard this series is awesome; but I'm hoping this wasn't one of the storylines that everyone thinks is great)."

Someone gifted me this, and not knowing what it was and seeing Moore and Sienkiewicz on the cover…well, I was pretty excited.  I read it, the art is ridiculously, RIDICULOUSLY good  and the story is crazy and engrossing, and needless to say, I wanted more, noticed the big 1 on the cover and figured there would be.  So I investigated, and wow…what a nosebleed this controversy was/is.

This is the latest news I found.

For the longest time I just bought comics off the shelf, went home, read them, and paid the "industry" no neverminds…I kind of miss that sometimes, and that's not to say that I'm not forever grateful for all the knowledge I have attained through EOC and the forum, but sometimes I miss being ignorant, but I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.   Whaaaat

I finished Usagi Yojimbo Seasons vol. 11 tpb.  It was good but not great as previous volumes of the series.  I just found it lacking in some parts, yes some stories were better than others while a few were duds.  7.5 out of 10 stars a average good read but not a must read in my opinion.

Careful...  If you keep this up (or worse, mention it on a podcast), people will label you cranky and think you find the Internet knowledge useless.

You are both right... The ONLY thing that gets to me about that book is that I will never get more than 2 and a bit issues and it could have been something great

Batman: Eye of the Beholder

While I'm not saying it's amazing stuff, I'm not hating these Tony Daniel Batman stories like most people did. They certainly do pale in comparison to the Morrisson stories. But on their own they aren't half bad.

Just picked up that Arctic Marauder book a couple of days ago myself. Looks like another gorgeous piece of work I'll have to twist my own arm to read. THE PAIIIIIN

Just finished up Severed on a trip back to Texas. Sweet lord, I wanna have its shark-toothed babies. Just ordered the hardcover (read it digitally from comixology) to drool over tomorrow. So awesome.

On to either Arctic Marauder or my new copy of Action Philosophers. What to do, what to do...

Haven't read this in a long time.  Still strange, still poetic, and still relevant.

I am still plugging away at Reamde by Neal Stephenson.   I'm half way done with this monster.   I love it and just need to make more time for reading.   Too many other books in the que.

Topher, the first volume of Hellblazer, while it seems generally well-received, is not one of the storylines that people typically praise when touting the series. I may be mistaken but I think the first and most-praised run on the series was the Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon run, which begins with the trade Dangerous Habits. I highly recommend that run. It's good stuff.

LoEG Century 2009
My favorite piece of the Century puzzle and just down and dirty and great.

Gloriana
It is amazing how much can be drawn about a single sunset and how compelling that can be made. Huizenga is a monster.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
The greatest fantasy / adventure comic ever produced, more here: http://www.spandexless.com/2012/06/spandexless-reads-06-30-2012/

ZAUCER OF ZILK
Brenden McCarthy & Al Ewing

All you should need is to see this

This comic looks like nothing next to it on the stands the coloring job in this is atmospheric electric brilliance over an acid trip of a magician pop star fable about mortality.

The only downside is the only way to get it right now to buy the 2000AD progs but if you are then you are familiar with the MAGIC.

Are you aware of any plans to make 2000AD available in digital format?
