Finished Batman: Gates of Gotham yesterday, what a fun Batman story.
Currently reading Dick Briefer's Frankenstein. What an awesome book and historical reference. I am really enjoying this. Quality production went into it and you can tell that Yoe really is passionate about this with the detail that went into this book.

Just Finished up Criminal Last of the Innocent and Spider-Man Blue. Both are fantastic in story, and art. Ive just finished Self Made Hero's adaption of At the Mountains of Madness. I really enjoyed it and now would not mind reading the original H P Lovecraft story as this adaption was my first exposure to this story.
 The original is good stuff, if not quite the best introduction to H. P. Lovecraft's authorship. |

I got a good amount of reading in this weekend. Nice and relaxing. I read Pistolwhip and 2 Sisters by Matt Kindt. Both had great stories and solid art. The art is a very Lemire"ish" style. If you like Lemire's art, you'll appreciate Kindt's style. However, the type of stories the tell are very different.
Also, I read Blacksad. Wow. I've heard people speak of this book, but never knew what it was about. It was gear to go into it blind. And I win take that away from anyone here, so all I'll say is...wow.
I do have a question about the Blacksad book. Is the book with three stories the only one? Or is there more out there somewhere?

BPRD Megabundle Vol 1
This was the thing that Dark Horse released digitally recently and BPRD is the master class example to me of serialized continued team storytelling. Mignola, Arcuni, Davis, Stewart and Robins are next to if not the best collaborative team in comics of the past decade easily. Single issues up to arcs up to overarching stories this is just perfectly paced, perfectly characterized and perfect on the art. One of the action/adventure pinnacles in comics.

I'm about half way through Cloak & Dagger / Power Pack: Shelter From the Storm. I have always dug Cloak & Dagger, but had never read anything with Power Pack in it so this is a little new to me. So far I'm really enjoying it. Big time Marvel 80's goodness.

I'll have to google him when I get off work tonight. Yeah for sure check out his Daredevil and Gotham Central work. He also did an issue of Amazing Spider-Man somewhere in the 620's. I've been meaning to check out Terminal City from Dean Motter and Michael Lark for awhile now. |
