I just finished Batman/Green Arrow: The Poison Tomorrow OGN written by Denny O'Neil, Michael Netzer on pencils & Joe Rubinstein on inks. This 64 page read is full of adventure & a teamup of heroes who sees things differently. This time w/ Dinah's life & Gotham City both at risk from a scheme by Poison Ivy it is a race to find answers in time. This is not your garden variety Batman adventure the story is notches above one usually suspects, the art as a whole & even certain pages of Ivy are captivating to look at. This has not been reprinted to my knowledge so you will have to go convention hunting or on ebay. I can't recommend this highly enough 4.5 stars out of 5 stars rating.

Read I Kill Giants this weekend. The poor thing was buried deep in the regina pile and I'm so glad I dug it out, cause it is one of the most charming books I have read in a long time. I thought it was one of those books that you would suggest to people who don't read comics, or have aspersions to dudes in tights. Great, great read.

Crossed #0-9 & Badlands #1-3 (Ennis & Burroughs) Having only seen the random image of this up to this point I avoided it, however after reading more and more about how that is only surface and there is more underneath I decided to take the plunge into the atrocity.
I often forget just how good Ennis is at creating psychologically real characters for the setting and not flinching away from the awful nature of the scenarios he creates. Reading this book crystallized all the problems I have with the sugarcoated nature of The Walking Dead. Also Burroughs is so so good with the facial expressions and making every scene buzz with the same level of tension dread and bleak foreboding.

Haven't checked in on this thread in a while. I've been reading this lately and it's great. If you have any interest in sports, history, and the state of the world in the lead up to WWII you owe it to yourself to check it out. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Just completed reading through all 75 issues of Gaiman's Sandman, I found this a very uneven run, some of the longer story arc were just wonderful storytelling, a lot of the one shots didn't really work for me but then there were excellent ones like collectors and the 100 year meeting issue. The only longer story arc that I didnt really enjoy was the final one and some of the issues after this arc felt a little pointless. This sounds negative about the run but thats not how I feel, there are many moments of comic book brilliance and I can see why it is a well loved title and for the most part I agree.

I don't think you'll see a better sampling of artists in the run of a series than in the "Sandman" series. Kaluta's pencils during the final arc were awesome.
