Had to put aside the Flex Mentallo re-read for a bit so I could drool over this freshly arrived hunky slab of Eleven O'Closcar bait.

It's got my vote…but beyond that…doesn't it just look really good?  The cover is dope.  The pages, clean and crystal.  It's just put together really well.

I was so happy when I heard they were collecting this, Batman: Knightfall volume 1.  I have such fond memories of reading this back in the day, the fear of "who the hell is this Bane guy and how can he be doing that to Batman?!?" going through my mind.

Sat down last night to go through it again, looking forward to the reread and seeing the story from a different perspective this time.

Just finished reading "45" published by Com.x.  This book is a nice departure from the four color, 9 panel format of a regular comic book, since it's written in an interview style.  The idea of an expectant father interviewing superheroes to see how they cope with the world they live in, and the possible scenarios his child will face if born with super powers, is a great concept.  I'm an expectant father myself, and although entertaining, this book gave me some things to think about in terms of what kind of future my child is going to have to face.

The world building in this book is also exceptional, and the spot illos by different artists such as Frazier Irving also enhanced the reading experience.

If you haven't read this book give it a shot.  It was only $4.99 on Comixology, and it came in at around 131 pages.  Not a bad deal.

I've been getting a little jaded with comics over the last few months, While I still read them my excitement for them had hit a low. Then I read Blacksad..... I have not got the words to describe how good this book is. The art is just breathtaking and the story is strong and really rather brave in the scope of the stories. They could have easily come off as clunky or forced but they instead come across as subtle.

It's the best book I've read since Maus and like a great wine it's made the books around it better. Basically I'm back in the game. Next up is another 11 o'clock recommendation King City

Beanworld

Not going to lie. At first, I was like this is bullshit. Wasn't feeling the book AT ALL. And then somewhere around page 30 to 50 the book got the hooks in me. The only reason I had to put it down was because my break was over, but man this is such a neat book. I love how just when you think you have the ecosystem of Beanworld figured out, there is another layer added on top to how things work in this world.

It's funny how quickly your views can change.

My regina has been piling up to astronomical proportions due to the fact I have been trying to pound out John Byrne's complete run of The Fantastic Four.  I don't think I have ever read that many issues back to back.  But I did it…and in retrospect I don't know how wise it was to read that many issues in a straight line.

At this point, critiquing it would be like running a mile with a belly full of porter house steak.

Well, I finally got a chance to reread Barry Windsor-Smith Weapon X last night after the first read through upon getting my trade three weeks ago. Weapon X has a very unique art style & in some places "Bendis-like word balloons" that sets it apart from most other comics at the time. The bald professor is indeed "the animal" & Logan is man was the best line even if it was a sequence of a scenario until the real crap hits the fan in the remaining pages & the last few pages after the cover gallery. Barry Windsor-Smith uses the economy of words method & let his art do the talking for him. I was engulfed into each panel & full page layouts something only akin to Watchmen or Dark Knight Returns. If you want the best Wolverine story of his origin you can definitely start here. As for me, I will be buying more Logan focused material & I am a DC guy. Getting the true "origin" of Wolverine has spun neat little niche for Marvel. I don't want the loads of subpar material that is out today but I only want the good stuff the grade A material is what I will be getting in the near future.

Wolverine Chris Claremont Frank Miller 4 part miniseries & Uncanny X-Men 172-73
Wolverine & Kitty Pryde 6 part mini
& give Marvel Comics Presents Wolverine vol. 1 a try as well.

Rating a solid 5 stars.

I will definitely read this again in the future.
