Final Crisis hardcover- worth every penny. It reads easier in HC for some reason, but I don'y really know why. Vermillion/ Gemeni Blood/ Brain Banx/ Time Breakers- About to dig into some Helix sci-fi, which, as I posted this info elsewhere, I got complete sets of all for £8.00.

Read all of 20th-Century Boys, Vol. 01. Cracked a library copy today and couldn't put it down. Fun stuff.

How's the paper in the Final Crisis HC? I saw at the bookstore today and it felt light as a feather which alarmed me a bit. I thought DC would give this collection good paper but it was sealed so I couldn't check it out myself.

The paper is fine- holds the colour nicely and has a good weight to it although its probably a little lighter than the original book, just because there are over 300 pages. Oh and read "Wimbledon Green" by Seth- reminded me of Chris Ware but less depressing- a great little sequence of stories about the "greatest comic book collector in the world"- really enjoyable and well worth a gander.

I had the same reservations, but I really enjoyed it. I'm 3/4 of the way through American Gods. Why didn't I buy this earlier, this book is FANTASTIC!!

I finished Push Man and other stories by Yoshihiro Tatsumi last night. Loved it. It is extremely somber and the the author has clearly had some rough relationships in his life, but really moving. I think I remember Tom talking about his on AC awhile ago. For anyone who may be interested in this title, next time you see it on the shelf read through the actual Push Man story in the book store. If that grabs you like it did me you are set to go.

Annihiliation (Book 1)- who knew that Nova could be such a cool character as Cammi says, he looks kind of corny.

Just finished American Gods, one the best books I have read in a very long time. I may have to delve into some other Gaiman novels, anybody read any others??

the Neverwhere trade is well worth a look (but the TV series not so much - little bit 1990s and too small a budget!)

I finally dug out The Atlantis Chronicles to re-read. An upcoming episode of Legion of Substitute Podcasters was the inspiration for the re-read!

Neverwhere is good (I'm referring to the novel– I haven't read the comic adaptation) and I really liked Coraline. It's written for a younger audience so it's a quick read but I loved it. I have Anansi Boys on my shelf, waiting to be read. I hear it's excellent and if I recall correctly, there's a loose connection to American Gods. If you want to read more Gaiman, that's probably a logical next step. Jim

I just finished World War Z. I liked the interview setup of this book. All in all a entertaining book. I picked up Satanic Versus by Salman Rushdie to read next. I was going to read lamb with the book club but my library lost their copy and there is a waiting list to transfer a copy from one of the other libraries.
On the comic front I just read LOEG Century 1910. I really enjoyed this. Great Kevin O'Neil art. I will after to reserve judgment on the story until it is over.
I just started Batman Year 100. The art is fantastic. I hope to finish it this afternoon after some fishing.

At Vince’s ringing recommendation, I ordered and just completed the two volumes of Gyo and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is my first experience reading Manga and it wasn’t too bad. It took me a minute to learn how to read as I had no idea Manga books were backwards (I assume all Manga books are written that way). The bonus stories at the end were good, especially, The Enigma at Amigara Fault. I’m a bit claustrophobic and that particular story had an ability to “stick” around in the back of my head long after I put it down.
Anyways, thanks, Vince. I would’ve never picked this up.
All Manga is that way but when it's translated and printed over here some of the publishers decide to flip the Manga so it reads how we are accustomed to reading. I think it's less likely that this happens now as I know when Dark Horse reprinted some of their titles they went back the way it was originally presented. I really like the The Enigma at Amigara Fault story too. That`s some freaky stuff. I think I might like it even more than some of Gyo and Uzmaki.
