Hey Everybody, skeematic here, or you can call me James if you like  Cool

Ive been listening to 11 oclock since about April of this year.  First I want to say thanks to the guys for opening up my eyes to so much more thats out there.  I thought I had a pretty good grasp of some of the great stuff coming out from other publishers other than DC, Marvel, and Image, but you guys have talked about so much stuff that I wouldnt have otherwise heard about.  That of course is a double edged sword, as now i find myself without the time to read everything.  So....Thanks Guys!

My favorate recommendations so far is the 75 Years Of DC Comics: The art Of Modern Mythmaking.  God what a book.  I havent had a lot of time to do much more than skim through it, but its a sight to behold.  Some other purchases I've made just because of the sheer enthusiasm you guys have displayed while talking about them are Infinite Kung Fu, Wally Gropius, and the Someday Funnies, among others.

Anyway, you guys do a great service to the comic community.  You help lesser known creators gain exposure and thats a great thing.

Hey everyone!

I'm Chris, been listening to EOC for a bit, among numerous other podcasts as I listen at work most of the time that I am there. First got interested in comics as a kid in the 80s when I was bought some 3-packs of Marvel comics. Recall getting an issue of Classic X-men that reprinted a Hellfire Club story and one of X-Factor with a portrait of Cyclops on the cover. Had a subscription to Amazing Spider-Man while Erik Larsen was penciling it and followed all the Image guys pre-Image, so was way into that launch initially, but lost interest in comics for a while during high school.

Returned around the time of the first X-men movie because I heard Claremont was writing x-books again... uh, while that didn't keep me in the comic shop, it got me there and I discovered a bunch of stuff I did enjoy at the time. And, I've been buying with varying degrees of investment based on finances ever since.

From that, might seem like I'm a Marvel guy.. and while I was, in the last decade or so I've bought more and more DC and independent stuff.. to today when I don't pick up much Marvel stuff anymore... which is still a little strange to me. The change predates the new 52, though I am enjoying a bunch of those titles.

Anyway, enjoy EOC and find it really listenable, which in my opinion, says a lot. Appreciate that there is a balanced look at both mainstream and independent titles without disparaging the opposite and just the amount of enthusiasm for all things comics. It's infectious.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jim and I'm 47 years old, a father of three, the youngest of whom is 15.  I've been listening for a couple of years and have been reading comics for 40 years (wow...).  I still own the oversized Spectacular Spiderman and Whiz Comics #1 reprint I bought when I was eight ( the fact that those had heavy cardboard covers really saved them from falling apart like all the other comics I read to shreads before I was twelve).  My big favorites were always Superman and Batman, almost certainly because my favorite TV shows were Adam West's Batman and George Reeves' Superman.  Nowadays I don't buy anywhere near what I used to, but I still really enjoy a great story.

Well hello now!

I am very excited to finally be posting on the bullpen forums...I have been an avid listener of the show since approximately the new 52 launch, and like many others I wish to give my thanks to the main men (Vince, Chris, David, WOOOD) for their tireless and boundless enthusiasm in putting out such a quality podcast EVERY WEEK. Seriously awesome dudes. More than anything, I really appreciate the diversity of your comic interests - I think I probably have most in common with Mr. Vince B. when it comes to my tastes (i.e. Gangsta Rap Posse = genius  Thumbs Up) but each of you have turned me on to something genuinely awesome, and for that I thank ye heartily...

So, for a bit of background on myself: I'm an australian-brit who has been living in the US since 2005. As such, I grew up almost exclusively with European comics...as a kid I read nearly every Tintin and Asterix & Obelix. Since moving over here I read and thoroughly enjoyed a couple graphic novels, notably "Watchmen", but it really wasn't until this last year, with the DC 52 launch that I realized that this was something...a culture perhaps...that I could really get into, and really needed to find out more about. I suppose in some way this makes me a poster boy for the whole DC relaunch idea - I am one of those folks who were just outside the comic world, and the new 52 piqued my curiosity just enough to get me hooked. That said, I've got the new Swamp Thing, Animal Man, and Action Comics on my pull list at the local store, and have recently got into Demon Knights too. I'm waiting for Snyder's Batman and All-Star Western to be collected in paperback before I get to those, but they're awesome also. Other than that, I've been checking out Sweet Tooth, Love & Rockets, Prison Pit and a bunch of other older stuff...loving it all, and wouldn't have even heard of them if it wasn't for 11 O'Clock Comics. So, thanks again to the main men. Your show gets me through the work week. To the rest of the forumites, I look forward to getting to know y'all. I hope to see you around, especially on the drawing board!

Hey, fellas.  The name is Sean and I've been listening for about 6 months (I don't really recall what the magic search was that allowed me the privilege of stumbling across your podcast) and have greatly been enjoying the show during my weekly commutes.  I've sampled a few other comic podcasts and this is one of the two that has stuck.  You guys do a great job and striking the perfect balance when discussing the mainstream and those comics found a bit off the beaten path.  I also love the diversity between your opinions and each one of your unique personalities bringing something to the table.

Still being a bit of the neophyte to the medium on this side of the pond (I didn't read my first Western comic book until about two years ago, in my late twenties - I grew up a bit of a book snob), I always look forward to more recommendations that this show provides.  After backtracking through a lot of the older episodes, I registered to contribute to the 11 O'Closcars (some of my favorite episodes) and hope to stick around.  Thanks for letting me listen!
